Will the new World History program be available .....

Will the new World History program be available to view at the Arlington, TX convention next weekend? I know the guide won't be ready for some time, but will the books and different packages be available to look at? Will there be a sample first week to view? I am so excited about using this for one ...

Re: A year of pilgrims?

I also want to add that my daughter loved the history spines from Beyond so much, that two years later she went looking for them to read again. I had sold our Beyond set thinking that we weren't having more children (although the Lord had different plans :) ), and she was so disappointed. Anyway, ju...

Re: Using WG if we've just completed Mapping the World/Art

My oldest is using World Geography this year and is really enjoying it. There is so much more to it than just the mapping with art book. :) If it were me :) , I would have the student complete all the readings scheduled from the book, draw the maps (or practice drawing the area from memory), and let...

Re: Diversity in Guides

Of course! :). I can't remember everyone my kids have learned about over the years of using HOD, but they have learned about numerous non-white historical figures. My daughter is using CTC this year, which has a ton of biblical history, and has learned about numerous people from the middle east. I t...

Re: A year of pilgrims?

I never thought of it as a year of pilgrims. :)

We loved Beyond. I learned so many new things that never were taught in school when I was young. My daughter loved so much about that year, especially the poetry. :)

Re: RTR with a sensitive student

Thanks, Nancy and Julie. :) Julie, my daughter just turned 11 and she's in 5th. So she'll be in 6th when we start RTR. Maybe she'll mature a little over the next few months and it won't even be an issue. Right now I'm thinking I'll just read any sections that have a warning, and either summarize the...

Re: RTR with a sensitive student

Thanks, Laura. :) I understand what you are saying, I'm just worried about a couple of the chapters causing nightmares. I think our kids need to understand how sinful people can be, but I think it can be explained in less graphic terms than the authors of a few of these books describe. I do greatly ...

RTR with a sensitive student

My daughter is using CTC this year and is greatly enjoying it. :) So I started thinking about next year and I took out our box of RTR books from a few years ago when my boys used it, and began looking through everything. I am a little concerned about my daughter reading some of the history because s...

English credit for MTMM

Would the English in MTMM be considered high school credit worthy as is for 9th grade?
So it would be:
Rod & Staff English 6
WWTB 2
DITHOR 6/7/8 with hs appropriate books

If not, what would I need to do to make it credit worthy?
I am thinking ahead and planning a sequence for my daughter. Thanks!

Carrie, World Geography guide question...

Do you have an estimated release date yet for the new guide? Will the books be available for purchase soon? I hope I'm not being impatient. :D I'm trying to decide when we will start our school year, and I usually spend some time over the summer reading some of the books from the program. Thanks so ...

Re: Does each student need their own Nature Journal for MTMM

My kids share one, and then they each have their own blank page nature journal to do their work in. There are blank pages in the back of the nature book, but they haven't needed to use them. So far it does seem to be a non-consumable book. Hope this helps. My kids have really enjoyed the art lessons...

Re: Sneak Peeks: New World Geography Guide

Carrie, I am so excited by all the sneak peeks! It is definitely making me feel more comfortable about homeschooling high school next year. :)

Do you have an estimated release date yet for the new geography guide?

Thank you for all your hard work. You are truly appreciated.

Re: Guide lists pages not chapter titles

I think it is unfair to say that Carrie is "trapping" her customers by making them purchase book packs from HOD. It is a convenience for most customers to have HOD offer this service. If it is easier for a family to use an e-reader, then go ahead and use one. But I can't imagine asking the author of...
