As far as I can tell there is no reminder to drill the math facts. I purchased some flashcards and just try to periodically remember to drill. Hopefully someone else will answer how they drill the facts. I believe most people say the kids just learn them without drilling.

Thanks for posting this. I have read it someplace before but it is always good to have the reminder.

As far as I know there is no list for it yet. There is only a list for LHFHG. I haven't gotten that far yet so haven't made one up yet. Sorry

She is very creative and cute to boot! My stepsister recently got her dd's name and info from China. They are hoping to travel in May or June I think.

Thanks so much Carrie. My ds in the preschool yrs was a total animal nut so both of us are tired of animals and life science. I'm thinking he would enjoy a little break from Life science and would enjoy something simple on levers or magnetism or something. I definitely don't want to make him hate sc...

I would think studying state history on the east coast would be easy since when you study early US history a lot of the topics overlap. When I grew up in NJ we didn't do individual NJ history but got quite a bit of it studying Colonial History. This may not be as interesting but doesn't Alpha Omega ...

Question about LHTH

My dd is asking for "fun" school and wants to learn to read. I am curretnly going through LHFHG with my ds and I am using the Bible from that. My dd has sat in on some of the Bible stories. Can I just use this Bible for LHTH? Besides Bible stories what else is involved? I have looked at the intro an...

Science Question

Carrie is probably the only one that can answer this but here goes: Is Biology/Nature Study the only science that is covered or will basic chemistry and physics be covered as well? As in levers, fulcrums that sort of thing I'm not talking High School level stuff.

Thanks

As far as using the 2 manuals is concerned it isn't to hard. In the back of the Beyond manual there are 2 spelling lists per week. You could do list 1 this yr and list 2 next yr when you would be doing Beyond for History. My guess is list 1 is on level with a first grader and list 2 for a second gra...

I have Singapore 1a/1b if you want to look at it. I also know they have textbooks, "intensive practice" and challenging word problems. Those would help to reinforce.

Let me know

Oh I completely took it as a joke. Really I did. My mother in law makes comments about how she would tell my dh one day you will have a kid just like you. I just look at her and say gee thanks a lot. Its almost like a curse on the future wife. Oh and your ds wife will greatly appreciate all of your ...

    Well I haven't added it all up yet if we were to switch. It is possible the price tag will change his mind, especially since we will be adding Rosetta Stone to the mix as well. Oh and core k with a turning 7 yr old doesn't seem quite so bad but I am ready to be done with thin...
