Thanks for this post. It is very interesting, and I have enjoyed reading it. Here is my story. Before I was school age my oldest brother came home from public school and told my mom and dad to shut up. When he was asked where he learned that, he told them that his teacher said it. They decided that ...

Checking in.......

So, I have not been writing much lately, but I wanted to write and tell you that I have been working with Beyond the last couple of weeks. My ds is 8, and we are going very very slowly because of the summer activities, but he is enjoying it so far. He loves history, and it has been very interesting ...

Mary, This is OT, but I just wanted to encourage you on your weight watcher endeavor. It is the best thing I ever did, as I lost 48 lbs.....then I got pregnant, and gained it back :( . However, I am trying to get back, just having problems getting to my meetings, and so I am struggling. The measurin...

Praying here too. One of my dear friends has MS, and I am always amazed at how she allows God to use her diagnosis to glorify Him. I wish she was here to encourage you, because she is such a dear woman of God, but her children are grown, so no reason to be here. Whatever is going on in your life, I ...

Hey Dorla, Just off the top of my head, I am planning to get him a copywork notebook with he same type of paper that he is using for his writing assignments. I think we are going to use Handwriting without tears (at least I hope we can have a few days a week without tears) because this is what his o...

Hey Ann, I also will be starting Beyond with my 8 year old. Planning on starting next week. I am doing Little Hands with my 4 year old and my 2 year old likes to sit with us and listen. I am excited, and I am praying that i can get in a good schedule. We live in NC, near the Charlotte area. Around m...

Praying even now for God's comfort for the family and the church. Reminds me not to take life for granted. What a wonderful thought though, that tonight she sits at the feet of Jesus.

Have not had opportunity to really LOOK it over, cause my ds wants me to read Narnia to him at every opportunity, but I will after they go to bed. From what i have seen, it is just right!

Welcome Missy. I think it sounds like you know what you are doing! My ds is 8 and I just ordered Beyond for him. I was a little concerned about that because I saw all sorts of people who had younger children in Beyond, but after getting all the wisdom from this board, I realize it is better this way...

Thanks for the suggestions. That is kind of where I was heading, but I keep second guessing. Beyond is better for me right now anyway because I have most of the books already! :) Hey Ruth, my ds has been diagnosed with dysgraphia with mild dyslexia. I don't really think the dyslexia is correct, but ...

Am I doing the right thing?

Ok girls, here is my issue. (well one of my many issues, but this one actually has to do with this curriculum  ) For my oldest son I have been looking over the placement chart trying to figure out which program fits him best. My original thought was Beyond, then I thought Bigger, and then back...

I don't have a whole lot of answers for you. I am just going to give you my first thoughts. This is very close to my situation also. I have an 8 yo who I am going to be doing beyond with, and 4 yo (5 at beginning of "school" year) that I am doing LTHT with, and then a 2 yo. I have wondered this same...
