Favorite thing about Preparing
Hi ladies, I'm thinking ahead :) We are almost midway through our first year of HOD. We are using CTC with my oldest and we couldn't be happier! She will move on with HOD next year for sure. I'm also thinking about starting my next daughter with HOD. It believe she will place in preparing but I will...

Re: Rod and staff question
Thanks Lynn. That was what I was getting at. I'm not in a hurry to get them all. I just didn't know if Carrie had them coordinated with other things in the guide to where I needed to be on a particular lesson at a particular time.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Rod and staff question
Will that not mess up the writing instruction? Or does it not matter when you hit certain topics in writing?

Re: Rod and staff question
Thanks! That helps. I'll try to get to that point in the 5th grade book by then.
I just looked forward at grammar and it looks like the world history guide only schedules grade 7 Rod and Staff. What do you do if you have already finished it?

Rod and staff question
Hi ladies Quick question - for resurrection through reformation, I see you can use Rod and staff 4 or 5. If I go with the 5th grade book, will the lessons start at the beginning of the book? We are doing CTC this year and I had already done half of the 4th grade book, so the lessons arent matching u...

Res to ref writing
Hi ladies
Can you tell me a little about the writing in Resurrection to Reformation? I know it's medieval writing using IEW. Any other things you can tell me? We are using HOD (CTC) now but doing an online class. Just thinking ahead for next.
Thanks
Poppy

Re: Help - probably supplementing too much
Oh and can someone remind me how vocabulary is incorporated into CTC aside from reading good books? I forgot to mention that dd does Wordly Wise also. We had the online subscription last year and it expires in December. I'm ok dropping it. I just wondered how vocabulary is studied.

Re: Help - probably supplementing too much
Thanks everyone! I'm feeling pretty good about dropping all but the writing class, reflex math drill practice (which honestly is just part of our math program - i do that instead of flash card drill), and Latin. I just feel like Latin preps them so well for foreign language study later. We intend to...

Help - probably supplementing too much
Hi ladies, We are doing CTC. We are loving it. The problem is that we are supplementing a few things and some days we don't get to HOD until almost lunch. Help me weed out some of it please! We are doing: short Bible study so we can all meet together as a family for Bible states and capitals flash c...

Re: AWESOME first day!
I'm so glad you have gotten off to a good start.
We are using CTC and Little Hearts. My oldest child, who is using CTC, is over the moon. We both are so thrilled with this curriculum!!
I hope you continue to have amazing days and great learning along with your kiddos!

Science notebooking in CTC
Hi ladies, I'm setting up CTC to start Monday!! Woo hoo! This is our first time using HOD. I found a very helpful link on here that is helping me set up, but I have a few questions about the science notebook. I see it suggests page protectors. What kind of paper do you use to actually write on to go...
