Re: ?'s about the Emerging Readers schedule
Basically it has the order the books are read, what pages to read each day of every unit, and questions for each daily reading. The idea for the emergent reader is to read aloud to you, so no need for possible answers kwim.

Re: ?? about Little Hearts
One other question with her age should I stretch it out a bit, and how is that accomplished? I want her to start Beyond when she can do the emerging reader schedule. Right now she can read cvc words, and as soon as she sets her mind to it she will probably take off in reading. Who knows when that wi...

?? about Little Hearts
We started our school year 6 weeks ago, and I was trying to combine my ds 7 and dd 4.75 in Beyond. I decided it just wasn't gonna work for dd, so I've been rounding up the books I needed for Little Hearts. I already owned the main history and science books, and I was able to get the storytime, bible...

Re: Review of HOD at Cathy Duffy's site
It is not available through amazon, just amazon marketplace. Those are the prices that individual sellers are listing it at. It is a shame that people try to sell things for more than the new price.

Re: storytime with Beyond
We just finished our biography Squanto and my ds loved it too. I just stretched it out to fit the 20 days. I think it was good to keep the reading short for ds it really helped is narrating. I think later in the year if he is enjoying the book we could finish early and fit in two choices from the li...

My ds is 7 and doing Beyond. We are using Zoology 1 as well as the Beyond science. The science experiments planned are easy and fun, and you might want to just do both.

Re: How to structure the day?
We are using Beyond this year :) What we generally do is Bible first then Math and are Phonics/reading/grammar/spelling. I have two students, so one plays educational games while I work with the other than we rotate. After that I give the kids a break while I make them lunch. I have them eat while I...

Thanks for all the input it is a lot to think about. For now we will just keep plugging along and re-evaluate next year after I view the Bigger guide.

I just wanted to jump in and introduce myself. I'm the mother to 4 children son(7), daughter(4.5), daughter(2.5), and son(8 months). Our kids have always been homeschooled, and it is our plan that they will continue to be long term. The last few years we have been pretty eclectic with our schooling,...
