Need more advice: DITHOR or Brit Lit (WG/WH) for HS Lit

Ladies, I need to make sure I am not reinventing the wheel. I always make things harder than they need to be. I need help knowing what is the best/most efficient way to tackle a problem area we currently have here. My dd isn't going to get through the 4th HS guide. We need a 4th Literature program. ...

Re: Algebra II suggestions?

What about the Life of Fred series? I have never used them. My friends who do rave about them. I recently looked at them before recommending them to my sister. The website has a sample from each level that you and your son could look at. I am tempted to get a book now and she how my younger girls li...

Re: Algebra II suggestions?

Lynn, is TabletClass Math aligned to Common Core? I tried googling some info and was unsure. All I can find is the company saying they meet state and national standards. CTC Math is not Common Core aligned. While dd enjoys the accent, us parents rejoiced over their non-alignment. We choose to use un...

Re: Algebra II suggestions?

I have never heard of Tablet Class. I will have to check it out. More instruction sounds nice. Your comparison to CTC is helpful to me. The Australian accent in CTC is a huge plus for my dd. She loves it. She has a big issue with voices driving her crazy (had to stop TT because the nasal-y voice mad...

Re: Book of Centuries.....

Following.

I do hope someone sees this and chimes in. We will be starting this guide at the very end of summer. Hopefully it's all worked out by then so I know what to do. My dd goes a bit batty when we run into hiccups like this. Drives me batty listening to her.

Re: World History Guide is off to the printer!

Wow - that was fast printing! I think I am going to have my dd open the package. ;-) Just a little something to give her incentive to pick up the pace as we finish the WG guide. Homeschooling fulltime through the summer has its challenges.

Thank you for the update, Carrie!

Re: Advice on No-Nonsense Algebra

Looking back, I wish I had used Foeresters for Alg. over No-Nonsense. I went with it because dd is not a math guru. It's like nails on a chalkboard to her. So, I went for an easier program with her. Just to be sure enough material was covered is why I followed up with CTC Math's Algebra. I thought d...

Re: Little Hearts for His Glory motor skills workbook.

I highly recommend getting these workbooks. My girls thoroughly enjoyed them. It was one of their most favorite parts of the guide. So much so that I bought the next several books in series from Milestone Ministries to keep them going longer. They work on specific little skills. The activities are f...

Re: World History Guide is off to the printer!

Thank you for all your work and dedication! You and your family are a true blessing to all of us! I bought this guide last year with the intent on starting late winter/early spring. Our life for the past 5+ years has been filled with one trial or family emergency after another, on top of our already...

Re: Advice on No-Nonsense Algebra

Yes. Watching a lesson online then doing the workseet is what my dd did. We did find a few errors in the answer key. So if you come across that a handful of times, don't be surprised. Just recheck the work and note the correction in the key. If your son needs additional help, we found the algebra fl...

Re: Science notebooking in CTC

We use page protectors here as well, but just for science in this guide. I don't put the printed HOD history student pages in protecor sheets. We use plain white copier paper for drawings and such, copied lab sheets for science experiments, and notebook paper for answering the science questions. I p...

Feel free to send me a pm/note if you have any questions about them. They do have a demo to view. I don't remember, though, if they have viewable lessons for each grade/math level.

Re: DITHOR for high school - how many genres to cover?

Thank you for sharing that thread. I had yet to come across that one. It was nice to read through it. Dd is desiring a bit of freedom in her book choices, and her interests aren't always for some of the titles I keep coming across here. Over the years she has done her fair share of grumbling over no...

Re: World Geography Summary Page

What about making a copy of the copy? Just slide the first copy over so the gray is placed outside the copying range and make another copy. I have had to deal with things of this realm. I smash the book as best I can. In the end dd gets the best effort via that. I would love if HOD had a separate pd...

Re: Need HS Portfolio Building Advice From Experienced Moms

I am so glad you asked this. We aren't at the college point yet, but having an idea of how to prep for this is grand! My dd does want to go more into the fine arts realm. I am not quite sure what Storyboarding is in.... I was thinking about having her take classes in an art center her senior year sp...
