Re: Teach 100 Easy Lessons vs The Reading Lesson

Thanks everyone. I looked through the links Julie posted. (I'm glad for those who find those links, I can't find things like that). In one of them, Carrie says that the phonics is more complete in The Reading Lesson but isn't in the 100 EZ. I didn't realize that. I knew that 100 EZ was not complete ...

Teach 100 Easy Lessons vs The Reading Lesson

Has anyone used both? Favorite?
I've used 100 EL for 6 kids now, but have 2 to go and am wondering about changing it up. :)

LOVE the Family Time Bible in Pictures. My son loves it. The illustrations are beautiful and are real people, not cartoony.

Received RtR books!

Wow! This guide looks so incredible. All of the books look fascinating. I want to do it myself, I am jealous.
God has given you an amazing gift Carrie, to be able to put all of this together and write these for us. Thank you for using your gift!

Re: using diff. edition of Lamb's Shakespeare

That helps, I haven't seen the guide so I wasn't sure.
I knew it wasn't CtC, I was just saying that in that guide I tried to
not get some books and it didn't work b/c of the page number thing.
Thanks!

using diff. edition of Lamb's Shakespeare

Has anyone does the CtC using a different edition? Was is a pain because of the page numbers, or hard to figure out? I have 2 of these already, but will get it if it's easier. I tried getting the kindle version of some of the yesterday's classic books used in the CtC because they are free or a dolla...

Re: Does my daughter need writing instruction now?

My opinion: just let her write to her heart's content. Letting her do the written narrations if she wants is good, but don't start making it a requirement. I wouldn't necessarily turn her writing into a curriculum. She'll get to the other writing curriculum soon enough. :)

Re: Hands on math projects for 1A/1B in LHFHG or BLHFHG?

The activities for 1A/1B are in Beyond. The activities in Little Hearts are for the Earlybird books. I am doing Little Hearts but I have the Beyond guide to do
the math activites. Then I will use the Bigger book for 2A/2B.

Re: Bigger Hearts with Extension Package

Are you meaning that you would like to put them all in Bigger, or just the 5th grader?

That's exactly how I feel, we're going to have her do as many as she can in the next couple of years! :) I'm grateful that I'm starting my youngers from the beginning.

Re: Taking the Plunge!

Are you doing the CtC with your 15 yo? I think that's what I read. If so, I just wanted you to know that my 16 yo is doing it as well (beefed a little and she's moving quickly since she's older) but she LOVES it. It's really great.

Re: Coming Back to HOD :)

I think Bigger would be too difficult for a just turned 7 year old. I would think it would be better to do Beyond and then Bigger, each a year, than to drag out Bigger for 2 years because it was too much. If you did Beyond, then by the time he got to Bigger he would be there skill-wise and he would ...

spelling-give them the hint?

So, the lists all have something by the beginning, like, these words use "ai", or tell whether it's "ir, er, or ur". So, do you tell the student that? I was trying to go over the lists orally, thinking that she could probably do the words. It's with my 14 yo Liberian who struggles. We just tried to ...

Re: can't copy without mistakes

Thanks Tansy! I will look into that therapy. Is it something you do on your own, or do you go somewhere? We have a couple of those vocabulary cartoon books. My older Liberian daughter loves them. I will also look into that book. So, are you making her crawl? It is amazing that it sounds like your da...
