Re: Christian Liberty Nature Readers

I can't seem to find the reading level for these books, but I'm guessing you could use the second book as a DITHOR Level 2/3 nonfiction book or for summer reading.

Re: Emerging Readers- Questions

Hi, Jessica! I have a suggestion for your first question. With my oldest son, I have him take his reader to the couch and read it to himself before I join him. He then reads it aloud to me. He enjoys this and he can "dawdle" over the illustrations on his time rather than on my time. Maybe your girls...

Re: The Reading Lesson-(wrongly posted before)

Hang in there! My oldest son zipped through The Reading Lesson at age 6. My youngest son is working slowly through it. We are on Lesson 12 after one year, at a rate of one lesson per month. :D Everyday, we review previous lessons too. He'll choose a "story" from one of the previous lessons and I'll ...

Re: OT-Vacations

Hi Christy, Our family has been to Disney several times. Our most recent trip was last fall. We rented a large home about 5 mins. outside of Disney and shared it with several families for three weeks. That is our preferred method of accommodation, but many families love staying "on-site". I would en...

Re: Beyond- Curds and Whey??

We did this last week. All I had on hand was powdered skim milk. We mixed everything and let it sit for a lot longer than the recommended 5 mins. It probably sat there for a good 2 hours. :D We had small curds, but I thought if my milk had been more fatty they would have been larger.

Re: Printable master book list??

If you join the yahoo group "HomeschoolingHODMoms" and check the "files" section, you'll find a HOD booklist. It's in a spreadsheet format and has all HOD prices listed for each item. Edited by moderator: (Thanks for asking about this link when you posted it. I removed it as this is actually to the ...

Re: LHFHG with 7yo - Need ideas for extras or extending

Draw Write Now books are a hit at my house. There are eight books in the series and many of the books have various animals in them. On the days we are studying an animal in the HOD science, my kids will draw a picture of that animal. They would also come in handy for you while using Beyond as you ca...

Re: Not how I planned to start my new year...

Congratulations on your husband's graduation! :D It is very hard to trust our husband's judgment sometimes, but your attitude is wonderful. Enjoy the extra time you'll have with your little ones and I'll be praying for your older one's transition to ps. Please stay on the boards and I hope and pray ...

Re: How many of you are back to school this week?

We started back this week. We took a three week break in the fall for a family vacation, so a one week Christmas vacation was enough. I haven't had any complaints, so I guess everyone agrees with me! :D

Re: LHFHG 6YO - finishing our phonics lesson in a few weeks.

The Emerging Reader's schedule is in the Beyond and the Bigger manual. The first book has a 2.0 reading level and would be a great place for your daughter. I've been enjoying these books with my son. Carrie has definitely chosen quality reading material. There are supplementary titles listed in the ...

Re: How do you know when your child is ready-LHFHG

If he is asking for more, that's wonderful! :D The Reading Lesson would be a great place to start and also the Rod and Staff workbooks that are scheduled with LHFHG. Both of these have gone over well with my youngest son and were easy to add to LHTH.
