Re: Kinda OT - paper piles?
Here's what we do: 1. Each child has their own portfolio binder (2-3" size) for each HOD program. All artwork we save must be able to fit in the binder. Even my 2 yo has her own binder for toddler/preschool projects. 2. We have a wall in our hallway with a bunch of frames and a few of these frames a...

Re: Newbie with placement questions
Momtofour, you could definitely order the K and the 1st grade materials. Our family owns both of the Bibles, the K and 1st grade Science, and the Rod and Staff K books and Thinking Skills Gr. 1 book. All of them are excellent products, though if I had to pick my favorites, I would choose the Family ...

We have school in our kitchen/dining room. The first photo is our "buffet" which is actually a bedroom dresser we refinished. It is under the window in the dining room. Everyone has a drawer in the dresser and supplies such as paper, pencils, etc. are kept in the extra drawers. The second photo show...

Hi alydar, I just wanted to reassure you in regards to the Singapore Math. My oldest did LHFHG last year with the Earlybird Math, as I wanted to give him a strong foundation. We followed the Math schedule in the guide and did all the hands-on activities (it was a very simple year for him, but oh so ...

Hello! Combining your 6 and 8 year old in Beyond seems like a good fit. I won't comment on the other children as I'm not experienced with the upper guides. Here's a link to the placement chart if you haven't seen it yet. http://www.heartofdakota.com/placing-your-child.php

BJU Press has biographies of Martin Luther, Isobel Kuhn, John Wycliffe, Amy Carmichael, William Tyndale and Ulrich Zwingli that would fit your age category. Also, Christian Liberty Press has biographies of Martin Luther, John Bunyan, Spurgeon, and David Livingstone. The autobiographies of Gladys Ayl...
