did you know you can get mp3's of Gladys Aylward online.

You can all cosy up to the computer and hear her testimony in her own voice. The ones I have listened to are scratchy and sound old but it was facinating.

Alternative book projects? post your idea here

Last year when we got to to book project part of the reading program in Biography. I was thinking about "Life" books and adopted kids. It's this book you put together detailing as much as you know about your childs life before they come home. And then add more pictures and stories as they grow older...

I have mixed feelings.. I worked my way though college in a library. I love books :) Contact paper will probably do just fine... if you only want to keep the book for a few years.. but if you do a quick internet search on "book jacket covers" you can find lots of high quality not terribly expensive ...

I don't do it to "daily" school but I do add them in every vacation or weekend camping trip. For example I took the "one small square of sea shore" to our beach vacation. We were able to use the book and read it though several times. We Identified birds, seaweed and crabs from it. My s-i-l loved it ...

We have an adopted DD from India age 8 and We are inprocess for a "by faith" adoption from China 7 months into the 22 month wait time.. only 15 more months to go to child assignment!
Nice to know there are other Adoptive Mommies out there!
