Re: Singapore Math 6A/6B necessary?
Thank you SO MUCH, everyone! So it sounds like we should just go ahead and continue on with Singapore 6A/6B for 7th and then do Forester's (or one of the other recommended algebras) for 8th? It sounds like those of you who did Singapore through 6B didn't have issues moving into Algebra after that? I...

Re: Singapore Math 6A/6B necessary?
Okay, thanks! :D So it sounds like 6A/6B is Pre-Algebra since you go usually into Algebra from there? I have noticed a push in my homeschooling group/world and even in the STEM programs in the public schools now to do Algebra in 8th grade. I am all for waiting until 9th for Algebra if it will help h...

Singapore Math 6A/6B necessary?
Hi everyone! Just wondering if there are those of you out there who went on to Singapore 6A/6B after completing 5B and if you think it is necessary? Is it Pre-Algebra or Pre-pre Algebra? Does it take more time for me to teach compared to 5B? Is there a HIG? Is it hard for a non-mathy person like me ...

I, too, have had success doing the guides half-speed when needed. So glad it is working for your family and praying for a healthy end-of-pregnancy, birth, and baby for you!!!

Yet another reason I LOVE HOD!!!
Hi everyone, I just wanted to share that I appreciate HOD even more over the past year than I ever have! We have been using HOD for 5 years now. I have had numerous, chronic health issues this past year and still have ongoing doctor appointments, tests, and continued uncertainty and yet in the midst...

Re: Wanted to share a tip in regards to keeping track of boo
That is a great tip! Just wondering what dot stickers you have found work best? The ones I have gotten in the past always seem to come off! I really need to do this too, though, since I own a lot of guides/packages -- SEVEN and counting!!!

LHFHG Singapore Math activities?
Hi everyone, There may have been an update discussed somewhere on the board, but I can't seem to find it. Just wondering what to do about the Singapore Math activities in LHFHG since HOD had to change to SP Essential Math K (I know the previous ones went out of print)? I already own a LHFHG guide, b...

Re: End of guide certificate?
We usually choose one academic skill for each student that he/she has improved in and one character trait that we have seen them grow in throughout the year! We also celebrate with a "treat" of some kind...this year it was Wendy's Frostys!!!

Yet ANOTHER Amazing HOD program!!!
Well, I have finished another HOD program (Beyond) and my DS and I LOVED it! :D :D No surprise there! I have enjoyed seeing him grow this year in spelling, writing, and listening skills and am confident that he will move right into Bigger next year with very little adjustment! Thank you, Carr...

Re: The ? Beyond or Bigger / Julie Come Back Please
Could you start out with Bigger 1/2 speed? I did this with my oldest DS when I saw the amount of writing was too much for him and it worked really well! He did it 1/2 speed for about 6 months and then was ready for full-speed after that!

Re: I need some encouragement!
I have actually found it to be WONDERFUL to continue where we left off with a guide at the beginning of the school year after a summer break! My oldest DS has been doing this since BHFHG and it has been great! He knows what to expect, we don't have the need to "ease" into the guide for the most part...
