Re: Understanding the differences between HOD and Sonlight
But, I will say I would question any Christian curriculum that puts learning about the Lord in a separate time/subject of the day that can be dropped easily to leave a secular curriculum in its place. That sounds a lot like my experience with public school, and it's not one I remember fondly. It's ...

Re: Understanding the differences between HOD and Sonlight
Ok thank you for your opinion. It sounds like it may not be for us after all. The truth is I like the books that they have as readers...well in the elementary years. The other thing is you tweak the highschool HOD for your reasons...but let me ask you is it sufficient and how does HOD prepare my ch...

Re: Book of Centuries A Must Have?
We will not use it for our upcoming year, and dd just went through the motions with it this year, so I feel it's optional. We've done it through the years already and dd already can visualize and understand the events as it relates to others in their proper order. If your child needs it to understan...

Re: Biblical Worldview credit
All of the literature is full of Biblical Worldview, but I'm not sure those questions is enough for credit unless it's called "Lit through Biblical Worldview." Lynn's idea sounds good though.

Re: Understanding the differences between HOD and Sonlight
Hello, I am new to this forum and have been researching different curriculum choices for my children age 11 and 14. I have been very intrigued by both and I am having a difficult time deciding between the two. I find Sonlight especially more so in the highschool level reallly challenges the childre...

Exactly what Lynn H said. We just found these very rare occurrences as a great scriptural opportunity to discuss it, as in life these things will come up and best they come up at home with Mom.

Re: US1 confusion on narrations
Really? My Introduction has all the types of Written narrations shown and stated on Day 1, so perhaps "Day 1" is a typo and it should say Day 4?" I'll bet that's it!!! And that would be brain clearing! Okay, that would make sense. Good to know I still have some brain cells working. I thoug...

US1 confusion on narrations
I am looking over US1's Intro for history narrations and I'm thoroughly confused. Under Written Narrations, it shows Highlighted, Key Word, Summary, Topic, Detailed, Opinion, and Typed. But the plans within the guide show them to be oral and the "Typed" is called "Recorded". I'm not quite su...

Re: I need a little feedback for resurrection to reformation
I don't know if there's a new version out since I used it several years ago, but it mentioned the author's opinion that he was gay or liked men, or something to that effect. Can't remember the exact wording.

Re: Rooted and Grounded Bible Study
We didn't have problems with it at all. Yes, it requires thinking. I think the biggest thing was applying the questions to themselves and not parroting back what they think or know the answers to be. Deeper thought. My dd really enjoyed this study.
