Re: Having some big math problems

I just wanted to mention that I have twins also. My are 11 year old boys. We had some problems with Math a few years ago, and then I finally decided to do two different math programs. As much as I didn't want to seperate them and use different programs,I knew that I had to do something. One of my tw...

Re: Twins at different working abilities-now what??

Thanks for the post and comments, Patty. It was VERY helpful ! I do think the 2nd twin is capable of the work, he is just not accustomed to working so hard! The last curriculum we were doing was sorta "flimsy" and he got used to having loads of free time. So it is more a matter of getting use to wor...

Twins at different working abilities-now what??

HI, I have a problem that I am looking for some feedback/advice for. My twin boys, who just turned 11 in late Jan. have been using CTC for four weeks. We are on Unit 4. One twin is very motivated, loves to learn, cares about his "grades", and had the attention span to do CTC at full speed. The other...

Congratulations! I have switched mid year more than once and just switched this year and it is going great! My kids like HOD a lot and it has been a huge blessing to me!! My kids are getting everything they need, and I don't have to plan and worry about it! What a relief! As far as getting ready, I ...

Re: MTMM

I am not officially beefing up yet. I may hold my daughter back a year because she is quite far behind in math. She wants to do something with Chemistry and in order to do that, she needs to be on target for math to really do well in chemistry. We will beef up if we decide to go ahead with 9th grade...

Thanks, Melissa, for the comment on Up From Slavery. I plan on starting that book either tonight or tomorrow! What a journey this is! My youngest son just shared something he learned in Science in his HOD studies today-it is not nice to hear he is Involved and excited about what he is learning! pam

Re: Having 2nd thoughts-high school or not? Ref. to Rev?

Thanks for the reply, Carrie, and it does help me remember that she and I have time before we have to make the decision about high school. And you are probably right about trying to jump into the Geography without some more work on the basic math. She is doing Apologia Physical Science and wanted to...

Re: Need help with choosing for multiple children

HI, I don't have much advice to offer since I only began using HOd but I wanted to bump this up to the top for others to see. I have 11 year old twin boys who just starting using CTC (they just turned 11 in Jan.) and then two older children -13 year old and 16 year old both homeschooling. As for as ...

Re: Having 2nd thoughts-high school or not? Ref. to Rev?

Thanks you RuthAnn and Lynn- I SO much appreciate hearing from others that are in similar situations. I truly thought I was the ONLY one with this "problem". But this has reminded me that "yes" I need to remember that "God" is in control and knows what is right for my daughter. Lots of pray and trus...

Re: Having 2nd thoughts-high school or not? Ref. to Rev?

Hi, I know that I made my post very confusing! I am just wondering if anyone has ever waited to start high school or started high school late. I know that most here have young kids so I guess I am just grasping at straws really. And then my other question or concern was whether to wait for the geogr...
