Re: LHTH or LHFHG for almost 5 yr old (bday in Oct)
I did LHFHG at half-speed for my son who has an October b-day. we did the right side and added our own bible and science as we went. the next year we just moved on with math, reading, did our own storytime and did ther left side of LHFHG then. it was like a 2yr K program and he was just advanced in ...

Ditto to what Mom2Monkeys said and some others. i didn't even think of it as a word i had to look up and thought it was a cute name like another poster said. i didn't grow up hearing it and i grew up in the South.

Re: How do you keep a record of what you've done?

Both of them really like the checklist i got from a cool site with lots of forms and such and asked me to share it with them . It has room to put dates ...

Re: Where to Buy Supplies
I just ordered some different journals from Lakeshore Learning. Miller Pads and Paper looks very promising, too. i was having a hard time finding just the right journals for our family aside from making them myself and i found just what i was looking for. science, vocabulary, and composition or writ...

Re: Bible for Preparing
i would say the NKJV b/c you have used the KJV and it is the most similiar. i find it hard to memorize anything else. the KJV is poetic and easier to memorize but sometimes i can't understand what it is saying. my husband doesn't like anything else. i have used the NKJV since that is what my church ...

Re: LHFHG and Emerging Reader set?
we started ER halfway thru LHFHG with my son and then just started reading program, using books Carrie suggested ,after finishing ERs part way thru Beyond. We started DITHOR but then switched to something i put together. We won't finish quite all of the genres while in Beyond, but it doesn't matter ...

Re: History for Little Pilgrims Question
Definitely not necessary. i didn't have them for my son, but then when i thought i was going to combine my kids i got them. i thought it would be good for my daughter who was younger and then my son would want one too. They don't like to color pictures so much i found out. we used about 4 pgs in eac...

Re: LHFHG or beyond for my 2 children
Wow Kathleen, that is the kind of schedule i need to get on. course my oldest is only in Beyond so he can only do so much on his own.
It will be interesting doing Bigger,Beyond, & LHTH . and caring for a 6 month old come SEpt.

Re: LHFHG or beyond for my 2 children
Beyond sounds like it would fit your 6yr old best. I don't know about putting your 4 year old in Beyond. Unless they are advanced , their are some children who have trouble with LHFHG on the left side. I think if the children were older it would be easier to combine but with attention span, etc. i wo...
