I think that could work. I would be concerned if it will be to much writing for your 7yod. Also the jump to Bigger might just be too big of a jump for him. I would thin your 9yod's would be fine with Bigger and if you feel they need more of a challenge then add in the extension pack. I would recomme...

For copy work I picked up a Draw and Write notebook from Lakeshore Learning. It is all writing on the left side and the right side is half writing half drawing. My son still like the Lined paper so I will work with that. I hope by the end of Beyond he will be ready for regular notebooks but if not w...

I am using the emergent reader set now and we are reading the books and the optional books. This is helping my son gain confidence in reading books with more words on the page. DITHOR students books are written to be used over two years. You do the 9 genres over the two year period. But I would thin...

I cannot speak to the other programs. I did look at MFW K and it looked like to much planning for me and my son was beyond the phonics. We spend about 60-90 min on LHFHG many times breaking it up through out the day. We basically never do our read alouds close to the time we are doing the rest of sc...

We will be starting Beyond sometime in July. My son is 5.5 and currently finishing Little Hearts. I will slow down if it gets to much for him but right now he is ready for the full program. We will also be starting Little Hands with my 3 year old son and I have a 1 year old to make life interesting,...

Welcome Rebecca, As I have read through your post and the responses, this is what I was thinking. I would place your older two in Beyond using Bigger for LA and Math for your older. I think it would be easier to beef up Beyond for your oldest then tone down Bigger for your second. Also next year whe...

Hi Ashley, Go ahead and take a break. I did with my oldest. He wanted to learn to read at 4. We used HOP, about half way through the second book he just was not getting it and fighting it. We stopped and just read books. He read through Bob books and HOP books we had already read and we continuted t...

Yes you will be able to use a different Bible. The bibles in the packs were chosen for their controlled vocabulary. I understansd about not wanting to purchase another one. We happen to have the Beginner's bible but it is an older version. The page numbers don't match up but I have been able to figu...

Ah how do I schedule, that is a good question. I don't really have a schedule that we follow. This year we started Little Hearts at the end of July so I have until the end of July to finish. We are in week 31 right now so I will finish easily. What I have done is just make sure we are moving through...

Welcome Marie, We do a 3-4 day week here. We also school year round. What I do is keep a post it tab on that current day and when the boxes are done move to the next day. It is nice to have the unit numbers to see how far you have come through the book but you can really decide how many days per wee...

You could not register him but start working on Little Hearts at half speed and if he and you get to the point that you want more you will already have it.

Also if you don't register him that gives you this year to ease into schooling at home.
