Wow - this is our first full week with HOD. We moved over from MFW. I will say right off the bat, that this is a lot of reading to juggle. My 6 yo is in LHFHG and my 8 yo (9 in 2 months) is in BHFHG. My 6 yo is very active, so I have to be creative to get her to focus longer and do more work. I brea...

We did FLL for 1 & 2, moved onto GWG for 3rd. I have R&S 3 adn 4 here. If you drop FLL now, I would say perhaps start with R&S 2. If you finish FLL this summer, I say go into R&S 3. You can always take R&S slow and work through it over a longer period of time if it's too difficult, or if you find yo...

I do hope swap/selling stuff does not make it to these forums. Can you imagine all those fighting over stuff - lol. Just my $0.02 for when Carrie pops in. But, you can find stuff at several other places where used homeschool curriculums are sold. I don't see HOD levels being listed as often as other...

Wow! All my books have landed...what a mountain!
I just got in my final package today. I bought LHTH, LHFHG, and BHFHG...all the full sets. I had the bulk arrive today from Rainbow Resource, and the other boxes from Overstock.com and HOD arrived earlier last week. Now to organize the shelves and delve into all these goodies! BTW, does anyone here ...

I never did sight words specifically with my oldest. We worked on phonics and went right into reading with no issues. I did use 100 EZ Lessons after she was already reading, just to beef up her reading endurance. I will be doing the same thing with my other children and only doing sight words as the...

I also have to admit, I struggle with feeling HOD is not enough... that I should be doing more. Every other curriculum I've used in the past decade has contained more... and some have been downright overwhelming (like Tapestry of Grace)... so I've gotten into the mindset that if it's not overwhelmi...

I've been spreading the word to whoever will listen - lol - and am trying to make more HOD coverts out there! Me too! We're 2.5 weeks into Little Hearts, and one friend I told about the program has already ordered Beyond. I have another friend who is just starting hsing, and I'll be sharing the HOD...

I for one just learned about HOD. Where has it been hiding? Seriously. I started the WTM and moved onto MFW about 2 years ago because I wanted more Biblical content that the WTM provided...and I wish I hadn't wasted my time with MFW. Don't get me wrong MFW is a nice program, but HOD is a much better...

Re: LHFHG and placement for early readers
OK, so here's another question for you ladies. :D Do any of you with early readers use the emerging readers set at some point in LHFHG? I'm thinking about this b/c we're still 1/1.5 years out from Little Hearts and ds is starting to read "early reader" books on his own. We haven't really done any f...

LeAnna, You're looking for Little Hearts, right? Do the same thing Julie suggested with this link... http://www.heartofdakota.com/pdf/little-hearts-intro.pdf I know that I found a scope and sequence for all their elementary math programs on Singapore's website...just make sure that you find the US ...
