I am sooo overwhelmed!!!!
I'm in unit 6 of WG. I DO NOT understand how to grade. If I can't open a teachers manual with the answers right there, I'm lost. So, I'm doing OK with math, grammar and science. Everything else is a disaster for me. I feel like just enrolling her with the online public school. Though I DO NOT really...

Re: I would love to know more about HOD ~ Questions?
[ Lots of questions, but I'll answer what I can! quote="Hope"]Good Day Ladies! :D We are starting our 7th year of home schooling. Some of those years I have been more eclectic going to the next page in the books that we are using. Some of those years I have used curriculum that schedules all of the ...

Re: maybe we SHOULD do Preparing?
I'd move him up to Preparing personally, and do R&S3 mostly oral. We did oral pretty much except when it had to be written. Maybe use the FB science and history sheets so the bland pages don't look quite so overwhelming? Schedule the subjects with writting with other subjects between them, so he get...

Re: Need Advice
I would, providing she's ok with you taking that day off every week. Would he even be able to stay home alone that day and maybe work on English and Math, so he can finish the book this year? At the price she's paying you, would she be able to hire a tutor and keep him in school, for this year? Has ...

Re: WG supplies questions
Thank you for linking those. Unfortunately, being in Canada limits me. I did find parchment paper, for $14. And the dollar store had air dry clay, but what you linked looks more like what we call plastercine. I bought some of that anyway, so we're good there. Someone on FB said the calligraphy pens ...

WG supplies questions
What is the modeling clay we need? Does it have to be bakeable, or is the clay at the dollar store ok? Do we really need caligraphy pens? I can't find one under $30. But there's a marker set for $10. Would that do? I found a 44 page tracing parchement paper pad. Would that work? Or would a roll be b...

Re: We're BEHIND! Help!
Often people will skip the last guide or 2 and take the US history from Rev to Rev and MTMM for credit while beefing up of the subjects.

Re: 4 day vs 5 day week
My oldest son has decided he wants to fast track highschool. So, 5 days a week, Sept-June, starting a new guide when he comes to it. He wishes to use the extra time he saves to work and save up for tuition and a car before he goes off to university.
