Re: Bigger Extension Ben and Me replacement

No ideas? I guess I will just have to search the library. I'll post with what we end up doing for others who run into the same issue.

Bigger Extension Ben and Me replacement

Hi all,
My son has been reading the extensions for Bigger and it really adds so much to his learning and retention. However, we read Ben and Me for our Biography and I don't think he would like to reread it for his extension book. Does anyone know of any good replacements?
Thanks,
Micah

Re: Worried about sons reading level extensions

Thanks for the replies. I think I will just let him read the ones he is comfortable with and skip the other ones or read them with him. When I sat down with him and we both read the science extension we both actually enjoyed it and got so much out of it. I don't want to skip it :D A Child's Story on...

Worried about sons reading level extensions

My 9yr old son and my 7yr old daughter are doing bigger this year and I have been having my son read the extensions because he has always been a more advanced reader and I just felt he could handle it. He is handling it and so far has almost completed pedro's journal and all the Child's Story readin...

Re: Weekly Review September 17-21

Here is my blog post of our first week with Bigger Hearts. We decided to take things slowly so this is actually two weeks combined. We did two days the first week and three the next. It was perfect for the start of our year and we are very excited to be using HOD. http://joyful-homeschooler.blogspot...

Re: DITHOR BOOK PLACEMENT?

We are doing the 2/3 workbook with books off of the 4/5 book list with our 4th grader.

Re: Schedule help

I too am schooling the 4- with the surprise baby who is a miracle. I think your schedule sounds perfect. I like that the messy, hands on stuff is left for the end of the day when others are hopefully napping. One suggestion- for the older grades DITHOR is only scheduled for 3 days a week. I didn't ...

Re: Schedule help

No one???? BTW story time will be a bedtime read aloud until we get the kinks worked out. My Bible study is in the AM before the baby wakes or in the evening if I don't get out of bed in time in the morning, which is often these days  What about the rotating box? I was just thinking shouldn't ...

Wow! I really needed to read your post! This is exactly what I have been doing for the last three years. Maybe I should do the same as you did.

Schedule help

I am really nervous about trying to school with a new baby in the same year that we switched curriculum. We are new to HOD this year. So I was hoping to get some feedback on my rough schedule. We are going to be doing Bigger with a 9 and 7yr old. I realize I may have to change this many times to get...

Re: Rod & Staff 3 or 4?

http://www.heartofdakota.com/board3/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=12554 I'm sure you've seen this thread, but thought I would link it just in case. Best wishes on your decision, we are trying to make a similiar one right now. A 4th grader using 3 or 4. It's tough deciding whether or not to skip ahead. I think...
