Tabitha, if you email me at sahervey at hotmail, I'll email you my weekly spreadsheet. I have it for Res to Ref and Rev to Rev, but it may help you to get an idea of what you could do. I know that HoD has it all laid out for me in the manual, but I'm a box checker and I like my manuals to be clean. ...

Re: Preparing and DITHOR questions
Carrie recommends that if your child has not done DITHOR before, to begin with the first book. So level 2-3 workbook is the one you would want. You can use whatever level of books your child reads at. If your daughter reads at a 4th grade level, by all means, get her those books.

Re: Swapping Apologia Science in RTR
I had a 7th grade, 13 year old doing Res to Ref this year. Astronomy was her FAVORITE science. I didn't worry about it being too light because she's not going to get High school credit for anything she does as a 7th grader. I was thrilled that she expressed interest in a science though, so we went w...

Re: CtC for 2
I agree with the previous posters. Don't buy two of anything. I tell my sharers that if they want what the other has, they have to wait patiently or begin something else. It causes arguments sometimes, but it's such a petty thing to argue about that it doesn't matter to me. I just tell them that the...

Re: remedial student with Medieval Writing Lessons
I also wanted to say that it teaches really great concepts and you don't want her to miss out on that. My son is in RtR doing Igniting your Writing and NOT IEW. So next year, instead of creative writing, I'm going to have him go through IEW because it covers topics you don't want to miss out on.

Re: remedial student with Medieval Writing Lessons
My daughter didn't have any formal writing program until Medieval. She's an old 7th grader (13 years before she began her year). Anyway, I think she's done a pretty good job of it. I have the teacher's guide and referred to it a few times. I think IEW is a pretty full course and if she struggles wit...

When we did Bigger, we, too used the files that someone had created for History and Science. If you email me at sahervey at hotmail, I'll be happy to forward those on to you.

Maybe you could only do the right side of the next guide and that would keep her on track?

Re: Covers came off guides
I've only bought one new and it came with the cover almost coming off. I was so disappointed! I love my spiral bound Res to Ref. I have to check it and make sure it's not coming loose every now and then, but it's worth it to me.

Andrea, for the EE science, please email me and I will email you with my weekly schedule. Keep in mind that it will have all my kids' info, but you'll see the science schedule. It's on the bottom of each week's assignment. I scheduled the Advanced version, so it's 5 days of science. sahervey at hotm...

Re: High School Physical Science
I will be in your situation with a 9th grade MtMM. Here's what is suggested:
Science= 1 credit: Either use as a physical science or remove the Genetics/Evolution portion and add Ellen McHenry's Carbon Chemistry for a Chemistry credit

Re: Which writing program?
My daughter skipped WWTB 1. She will finish up IEW and then she's doing creative writing next year. I have the IEW teacher's manual, but have only referenced it a few times. However, some moms rely on it heavily. I know it's an added expense, but it's nice to know you have it. Maybe check their webs...

Re: Which writing program?
My 13 year old daughter hadn't had any formal writing curriculum either until IEW Medieval History. I was really concerned that it would be overwhelming for her. She has grown leaps and bounds with her writing skills! I say put him in IEW. And if you have to, take it slow. You will be really pleased...

Re: Advanced Exploration Education Science VS IPAC
I agree with the previous poster. I don't think most schools would allow that to be counted if he's only going to be in 7th grade. Some schools won't even allow 8th grade credits to count towards high school. Double check on that. Let us know what you find out, too.
