Re: Little Hands Help
My son was 4 when we started LHTH last January. We took it slow. Now he's 5 and we've still got about 8 weeks left. They are boys and they are children. Be gentle these first few years. I realize that just because my 5 year old doesn't know all his letter sounds right now doesn't mean he won't learn...

Re: Still considering HOD but...
I combined a 1st grader, 4th grader and 5th grader in Bigger several years ago. Then, I combined them the following year in Preparing. It worked for us. It was easy and they learned. But, the past two years, I decided to split them up more. So, my younger son was in 3rd and 4th while completing CtC ...

I thought the issue with the above passage was that "queen" wasn't capitalized! Haha!

Re: your experience with science in revival-revolution
My son is doing the Advanced version and he's a 12 year old 7th grader. If I'm remembering correctly, most of them have worked well. I can't think of any of them that have failed. He is really loving the curriculum. I love it for him, too.

Re: Resurrection to Reformation: Apologia Astronomy
I agree about not adding more. However, Apologia's books come with a password that will allow you access to book extras like links and blank notebooking pages. You could look into that.

Re: Dictation Errors
When I come across something like that, I accept either. If they write it just like the book or if they correct it to how we write it now, I accept that. Maybe back then, it was common to write things that way. We came across a girl calling her dad "father" and not "Father."

We're in week 17 and I believe most of them have been doable indoors. There are a few experiments done at the beginning of the year involving the glider and taking it outdoors, however a sunny day is not required. You can see the Table of Contents here: http://www.explorationeducation.com/#TBC

Re: Half-speed MtMM for a 6th grader
I have a few things.... Why would you skip Res to Ref (normal 6th grade year) and put her in Rev to Rev (7th grade year)? Did I miss where you addressed that? Also, if you do skip Res to Ref, be aware that Rev to Rev is a lot more work. My 7th grade son was taking from 8 am to 4pm to do his work the...

I'm in Japan and don't have access to a Michael's. Hopefully we'll find something here that will work.

Re: Supplies for nature journal
So the glossy paper is NOT photo paper? I bought it because I read that someone else used it, but even as I was buying it, I couldn't imagine it working.

I asked about this awhile back. Here's my post. A few people replied about it.

Re: History self study in Preparing
I have always had at least two of my kids combined. I have never bought two sets of anything. Not even guides. You just tell them that they have to share. It's a good life lesson in patience.
