Re: Beyond for a 6yo?..any thoughts?

My ds was 6 and was in the 2nd half of his 1st grade year when we started Beyond. :) We did Beyond 3 times a week and did 3 R's (spelling, math, LA from day 5, handwriting) daily untill our summer break. Once we started up in August with 2nd grade we went full pace and added R&S 2 and DITHOR, when h...

Re: Huge jump in handwriting from LHFHG to Beyond

My dd is also in LHFHG, and because she liked writing so much at the beginning of the year, I decided to do ARFH K faster than planned. I did not want her to get into bad letter formations. We are now working in ARFH A. Her handwriting is beautiful and she will be able to do the copy work in Beyond ...

Re: My dd wants to hear your dc's opinions of DITHOR

My ds 10 says he likes to read the books and do the fun projects that go along with the books. :D It makes the books even more exciting! It is not difficult he said, but he does not care for the writing part. (He is my child that does not like to write at all) He is doing DITHOR 4/5 this y...

Re: Read aloud - how do you choose?

This year I have enjoyed doing all 3 story times and my voice has given in, reading so much  My children absolutely love their individual story time selections and I think they would be highly upset if they were skipped. As it is everyone would like to sit in on the two younger guide readings...

Re: Bible in LHFHG & Beyond

We must be in the same unit for LHFHG :D My dd was very sad that we came to the end of her history Bible. We love "101 Favorite Stories of the Bible" and she matured greatly in answering the questions at the end of the story! We followed Carrie or Julie's great recommendation when we first started o...

Re: Finished TRL and on to ER

It took Dd 14 months to go through TRL. She did similar 2-4 pages a day and toward the end she was doing 4-6 pages! :D :D
We have been doing some extra phonics alongside the ER books as well, but she is flying through the Early Readers Bible :) :D

Finished TRL and on to ER

Dd is thrilled that she got to finish TRl before the end of the year. :D She is even more excited to have her own Bible to read. :D We started the Early Readers Bible and will go through both Bibles, as we did with her brothers. :D :D She has been doing great and wants to keep reading, so she read 4...

We started CTC

We started CTC this week at half pace... We are going on a trip soon, so I want to take the time to focus on training and getting used to the guide... Ds had a great time and enjoyed CTC and the way it is set up. He said it reminded him much of Preparing. :D Thank you Carrie for another great manual...

Re: masking tape issue.

So sorry that happened! :( We use blue painters tape, because my husband was worried that masking tape would make marks and or take paint off walls. It's more pricey, but it worked great, even when left longer than needed on floor or walls! :| ( I've been there!!!).. Hope you can cover the spot with...
