Re: placement questions

Hi Tina, How EXCITING! You are going to LOVE Beyond! One of the things I have found with HOD (that I didn't grasp until we had used the program for awhile) is how incredibly deep it goes. It's not just about history or science or writing. It's about teaching your child appropriate study skills at th...

Re: American Pioneers and Patriots Q???

Kelly, You could take this book and use it to teach from. I agree with Patience that I think of it as a snuggle bug kinda book, but if you took the number of weeks you'll be teaching and broke it down along with a hands on project you could make it happen. My thought though is that I could do it muc...

Re: DD doesn't want me near her for school!

Jessi, I just want to say that this threw me for a loop too! My first born is 17 and is a very relational learner. Since I am a relational teacher this worked great. Then came Colton. He does great while learning a new concept, but then does better working on his own. He almost cannot get away from ...

Oh Jen, Your on my husbands LIST! You know the list. The list that says you're one of my friends that makes me want to whip out the debit card  : I have a few questions: 1- Is this good all the way through highschool? 2- Does each child have to have ten boxes? If so, how? (1200 sq ft)

Re: Have questions :) (Carrie please look!)

Hi Tina, (((Welcome))) You are getting lots of WONDERFUL advice! I just want to chime in and introduce myself. I am Mary, Mama to four boys. We are finishing up our eleventh year of homeschooling and through the years I have tried a gamut of different curriculum/materials. I desperately struggled wi...

Re: Hello! Questions about placement for 10yr old

Hi Dorinda, Welcome! It's so good to have you here;-) I want you to know that you definitely could do two HOD programs, but I think it might be a good fit to start your younger one out in Beyond and do DITHOR with your oldest this year. (while using SL w/ oldest) Then by next year you will feel more...

Re: Assessment?????

Deb,

Could you just date the pages in your manuel with all the lesson plans for every subject? Here in Florida I just photo copy the table of contents and then put the date next to it when we do each unit. I hope that you find the perfect answer. Hang in there, it's coming! :D

Oh Georgette,

What a beautiful testimony to the Lord your share was. You do such a phenomenal job as a Mama. I love the heart to heart talks you have with your little ones. God has given you the perfect ministry and I'm so glad your using HOD. (((Big Squishy Mary Hugs)))
