Re: Comparison of Bible in HOD and MFW?

Wow! I've printed this thread and I'm keeping it in my HOD notebook for the year. I'm going to refer to it when I need to be uplifted or for inspiration.

Thanks for the amazing post, w2w! :D

Re: Trying to decide- need some advice

Hi VickiW! I think the post about Bible comparison between HOD and MFW will help clear up some of your questions. I looked at Sonlight, MFW, and TOG (plenty of others too...), and they all look too time consuming to me. Since I haven't used any of them, I'm probably not a good judge, but I just know...

Re: Copy Work Please Help

misty316, I responded on your other post about a similar issue, but here's what works for us. When we started with Beyond, copy work was not among my little guy's favorites. He has had trouble with handwriting, and I realize it probably was a fine motor skill issue. I let him play with playdough fre...

Re: Beyond, I need discipline.

misty316, I think I can relate to how you feel. We definitely had "one of those days" yesterday! And I'm not feeling great myself this week, so I think that kind of makes things worse for us all around. I will say though, that we had the same problem of getting finished when we first started t...

Re: We start Beyond tomorrow!

We are working along in Beyond this year, finishing up where we left off for the summer. Enjoy your time in this great program! It's bought many blessings to us, and I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Re: Science in Bigger

Oh my! You're so lucky to have a husband who spends time planning lessons with you! That's so sweet! I do have the list of BF history books for early Am. history, and I think you could probably follow along fine with most of those. It's all about the time period anyway, and since you've already boug...

Re: first day of school

Our first day back was today. We've had a bit of adjusting to do (with some end of the summer grumpiness :) ), but overall the day has been a success. We've picked back up with Beyond where we left off, and after lots of prayer and thought I decided to stick with this program and not make the move t...

Re: Science in Bigger

Hi Lizzie, Welcome to the HOD boards! You said that you're studying early American history, and that you're looking at the Bigger program--right? We're not using Bigger yet, but I do have the manual and have read through it. I love the science that is in Bigger, and to me, it seems a nice balance of...

Re: Geography question/MFW Exploring Countries and Cultures

Terri, You can buy a U.S. map or a world map printed on cloth at Wal mart too, and that would work great on a round table under the plastic sheet that you can also buy at Wal mart. If you have a long table, you could also put the world map on one end and U. S. map on the other end, then the plastic ...

Re: Need Your Help!

Okay, Mary, how's this? No stress, no worries! You want a Bible study---it's in there. Poetry study and memorization (if you'd like)---it's in there. A Christian walk through American history---it's in there. Math activities, early grammar exercises, spelling words, art activities, geography lessons...

Nice source for maps for Beyond and Bigger

Editing to remove the link, as I think though I found they could be printed, the material might be above the level for the ages in Beyond and Bigger. Sorry for getting this started in the first place.
