I'm thinking I may have called you back prior to getting on the board today? But, with the usernames on the board being different from the real names of people, I'm never sure! There will be 3 levels of dictation in "Preparing...", instead of 2! We've added one more level to help those with k...

I bought Our Father's World. We've done so much with just creation that I wanted a bit more than that. The books aren't that much, so if it seems too hard or not meshing I can always pick up the other one later.

What grade is she in? There are extensions for Preparing to give more work for 5th and 6th graders. You might be able to do that just fine with her. I would look at each of the books suggested for the extension packs or higher grades, and see if they would be a fit for her. I would think she would b...

Perhaps this may help for those needing Singapore Math helps, got it from another forum: ...it appeared in the Rainbow Catalogue last year (I think it was just last year.) It's called The Essential Parents' Guide to Primary Maths by Dr. Fong Ho Kheong that may help. It has 3 parts. The first is "The...

I have used 100 EZ lessons twice now, and both kids are FANTASTIC readers, and I think both completed the book by 5.5. My sister has taught all 3 of her girls with 100 EZ lessons, which they completed by their 4th bdays, yikes! Mine weren't ready that young, but hers really were. I swear by EZ Less...

Carrie, or anyone, I guess... Can you recommend any book to help me sort out what my children "are?" I guess as long as I use HOD it doesn't matter, since they are all represented. But I have found a few clues about my boys, thus far, and I'd love to enrich it more. Actually - The Five Love Languag...

I would think since The Reading Lesson is shorter, it might be worth a try. HOWEVER, are you a member of HomeschoolBuyersCo-op? They have a deal right now on Clink'nRead for about $35 for a lifetime subscription. You do it all online. When you are done, you can transfer it to a friend, etc. My dd lo...

I have 100 EZ Lessons and used that with dd#1 - it rocks! I just bought The Reading Lesson to use with dd#2. I asked about their differences on the WTM board since the approaches are alot alike, and here are some of the replies I received: I've used both and they pretty much follow the same approach...

Ladies, HOD is actually designed to work with all of the learning styles (visual-spatial, auditory, and kinesthetic). We actually make a point to include activities for each style of learner in each homeschool day (and in each box of the plans throughout the week). So, in that sense you don't have ...

Yes, I did look at that and my older one would fit in the older one, but the almost 7 year old would not. The almost 7 year old would fit fine in Bigger (she will be going into second grade). I did see that they have extentions in Bigger for 4-5th grade (the older one will be in 5th grade in everyt...

Hi Tabitha! This is Meg, my name here is lovetobehome! I have spent all evening sorting books and planning, LOL! DS will be using BIGGER, and now what to do with DD? Little Hearts looks a little light, but Beyond looks like too much to do alongside Bigger....and she is not reading that well yet. AN...

Hi Tabitha! Sorry I'm coming to this discussion a bit late. I'm so excited for you that you've decided on HOD - I know you'll love it!! I'm finishing up using Bigger... and will be doing Preparing... next year. I feel in my heart that whatever direction the placement chart had you leaning toward (p...

Ummmm...I didn't even think of history cycles...timing them to be done in time for 9th grade. Saw that on another posts.... Now I'm back to not being sure - lol. I might buy both manuals first and look over them, and then decide which route to go. I could always skip Preparing the following year. Or...
