Re: Preparing - what multimedia can be added (science/english)
Thanks Carrie for your input. I think the Math will be a huge reliever for us, just changing that. Thank you for directing my focus on that change alone. It will free up a lot of time. Between the drills in Saxon, reading through the material and examples with her, and then working through the probl...

Re: Preparing - what multimedia can be added (science/english)
Thank you for all the replies. It's nice knowing there is new cirricula to still research - lol. I love using HOD, and don't want to stop. Just having things to get me over the hump and fill in when I can't get it done myself will be a huge lifesaver. I think TT will fill our math choice. I looked a...

Preparing - what multimedia can be added (science/english)
I need some planning help.... Here's my situation. We are using Bigger for our 4th grader. She has a processing/problem solving issue and it's affecting her math. If we walk her through everything, she gets all the answers right. If she has to figure out the steps to a problem on her own, she freeze...

Nevermind, found my own answer! About doing Bigger twice....
Here's what I posted before...and I sooooooo forgot about Beyond Little Hearts - lol. YAY! That is my answer. Still, if you are gonna do a program twice in a row with the same child, how would you do it? * * * * * Original Post: Taking a break while the girls do their handwriting...and pondering a q...

Re: DITHOR - way behind, and need to catch up
Thanks everyone for the advice. We are now enduring the stomach flu going through our family, hence my delay in replying. Just once more thing to enjoy (or not) at the moment! Okay, picking up where we left off with DITHOR...I'll work on that. At night she can let loose on all the extra books....

DITHOR - way behind, and need to catch up
We are severely behind in DITHOR. We were into the first genre, and I dropped it. Same for the storytimes. My reasons...we had a 3 month house guest from Germany who made our house crazy. My oldest is in BHFHG (one using DITHOR), 6 yo in LHFHG and a 3yo. My 6 yo has been sick with immune system issu...

Re: My girls with Steve Green - PICS - (we use LHFHG and BHFHG)
Thanks everyone! He is just fabulous! It was at a small church and prolly about 400 or so in attendance. I don't think it was too much over that. His voice is amazing and powerful. The acoustics of the church weren't the best...and the sound tech had the instruments and music up too loud. But still,...

Re: What is the theme of Ben and Me?
The neverending musings and actions/adventures of Benjamin Franklin (and his mouse Amos, of course). Musings, I am sure, is not the right word for what I am thinking, but I can't get it out of my head. We skipped reading last week, so I totally didn't see that question. Our German guest of 3 months ...

My girls with Steve Green - PICS - (we use LHFHG and BHFHG)
Look what we did last night! We had a wonderful time. A small little concert, and afterwards pics with the man himself! I talked to his wife as I was buying my boatload of merchandise not even knowing she was Mrs. Green until he introduced her later in the evening. And yes, I let him know we were a ...

Re: My DITHR got lost in the mail!
Cry with me, ladies! We began BIGGER a few weeks ago and were waiting on DITHR to arrive, I bought it used (Manual and 2/3 and 4/5 books). I paid for it Apr 18, and it has been lost in the mail! The USPS opened it to inspect as it was media mail, and they had the package but have misplaced the cont...

I personally would not worry about switching back to MFW and the whole cycle thing. I know it is hard not to, but God will guide you no matter what. I have planned out our entire k-12 education a zillion times, and each time I do, it gets changed anyway, so I have given that up. I won't be the same...
