Re: All-time, hands down, favorite HOD guide you have ever u
We have used Little Hearts, Beyond Little Hearts, Bigger Hearts, CTC, and RTR and are currently using Preparing and Rev to Rev. So far, my absolute favorite has been CTC. The reason I love it so much is because it is that last year where the child makes the leap from being relatively reliant on the ...

Re: O/T hoping for some Godly advice
I would go to cousin's mom/dad (the one to which you are "related") and let them know what is going on. The fact is that your dd, good in academics or not, is not always going to know the same material as her ps peers. We don't teach the same things at the same times. Or....Maybe your dd should star...

Well, that is part of the problem. He is very advanced academically and he DOES get a lot from the guides. He standardized test scores are all several grade levels above. That is why I went ahead and started him in K when he was not even 5 yet. Last year, his reading level was 7th grade...this year,...

Need help finding a post about being 1 guide short...
I am making some choices regarding my youngest son. His birthday is right on the cut-off for our state and I went ahead and started him in Kindergarten before he turned 5. We used Calvert that year and then started with HOD when he was in 1st grade (Little Hearts). Now he is finishing 3rd grade and ...

Re: water color pages curl....???
When we did CTC, we would do the paintings, let them dry, and then lay a book on the top of them for a day or so. It flattened them out and then I would put them in a plastic sheet portfolio. We have a very special collection now.

Question about Extensions:
I should know the answer to this, but I have allowed myself to do some doubting, so here goes: My son will be 13 in August and is working at an 8th grade level schooling year round. He is in the first 1/4 of Rev to Rev right now and doing great...but I am not sure about whether or not I should have ...

Just stopping in to say "hey!"
Hey! :) It has been so long since I came on to post...I wanted to give an update on us. We are finishing Bigger Hearts and have enjoyed every minute of it this year. We are on Unit 31 and my 8 y/o and I have both said we would be sad when we finished. We have Preparing all lined up to start, though,...

Julie, I look forward to your reviews each week! Thank you for all that you share. We are so excited to start Rev to Rev in a few weeks! Oh...and that pic of Wyatt at the computer makes him look SO grown up! I am noticing that in Bryce too. They are really turning into young men, aren't they? Bryce'...

Someone please link me to the organization of Rev to Rev...
I am setting up Rev to Rev for ds to start in April and I can not seem to find the "what he will need" part! For instance, in RTR, we have a Science Binder (with tabs for notebooking, writing, and Lab sheets), and IEW Writing notebook, an English 6 notebook and so on. Has anyone posted here a "prepa...

Re: So excited! Getting ready to move on to Rev to Rev!
Thank you all! It will be the first week in April before we get to start...but I like to have all of the materials in advance so I can peruse them! :) The Science looks so cool and my youngest son is even saying that he can't wait until he gets to do Rev to Rev. LOL Unfortunately for him, he is only...
