Re: Which DITHOR books-Level 2?

On the HOD site, I think Carrie has a reading level in the description of each book.

Re: Working through Guides

Thanks, ladies, for all your replies. I feel a little more comfortable now. I really like the idea of going half speed at the beginning of a guide if they need more time to grow into it. The way my young five year old is now, I forsee no problems. I'll just have to evaluate where she is at the end o...

Re: Working through Guides

Thanks for your replies. I asked this question because, although Preparing is for 3rd or 4th and CTC is for 4th or 5th, it seems that Preparing might be a little tough for a 3rd grader and a 5th grader might get more out of CTC. My dd 5 is an eager learner, and loves the pencil :) so I'm not worried...

Working through Guides

This may be a really dense question. But, here is goes. If a child starts with LHFHG in K, Beyond in 1st, Bigger in 2nd. Will they really be ready for Preparing in 3rd and CTC in 4th? I'm only asking because Preparing seems perfect for 4th and CTC for 5th. Please bring it on with your opinions!!

Re: HOW many book sets do I need?

You either purchase the history interest read aloud option or the boy/girl interest read aloud, not both.
Edited: Oops! I didn't seet the DITHOR in your post  The above book packs are meant for read alouds, so I would also get the correct DITHOR package.

Re: Bible Study in RTR

Wow! Thanks Carrie! I was only asking about the quiet time in RTR, but you gave me such a great overview of ALL the Biblical content included in ALL of RTR. I'm glad Hidden Treasures in Phillipians will lead dc in other places in scripture, and I'm so excited to begin the purity study with my dd. I'...

Bible Study in RTR

I'm sure this is a question for Carrie, We just began our journeys in Preparing (ds) and CTC (dd). We will work through the summer, so my dd will be ready for RTR around mid year next year. I noticed that dc are gaining a good overview of the Bible during the quiet time readings in CTC. I'm so excit...

Re: Bible Study/Puberty/CtC and RtR

My dd is also in the first stages of puberty. She is just a month behind yours age wise and also doing CTC this coming school year. I have been thinking that I would use the book on puberty, From Girl to Woman, this year and save the rest for the RTR guide. I'm guessing Beautiful Girlhood covers so ...

Re: Preparing and CTC

One plus! I have those four books already :D
How are you going about doing Preparing and CTC. Do you have separate storytimes with your dc?
Thanks

Preparing and CTC

Hi All, I am planning to split my two dc into their own programs next year. DS will do Preparing while DD will do CTC. The problem I'm having is with the storytime selections. I will want to combine that aspect in order to save a little time. So, I would like some help in coming up with my own story...

Re: Those of you who used HOD, left HOD, and then came back...

I haven't been on the board very often, but I thought I'd chime in. I left HOD after LHFHG because, at the time, that was the only book, besides LHTH, they had out. I had nothing else to move on to. So, I used MFW that I would have to say I loved just as much, then dd and ds went to a christian scho...

Re: Skills taught in Preparing in order to be ready for CTC

Julie, thanks for your reply. Are there certain research assignments in Preparing? I'm thinking of having dd do a little more research once per quarter on one of the people or events she's read about in history or a science topic she's interested in. I'm also having her write 1-3 important things, a...
