Re: Spelling for Second Grader
I didn't realize you said SM 1a. My ds is doing 2a right now. 1a is pretty basic, but once he hits 1b he will probably slow down.

Re: Spelling for Second Grader
I can't really speak to the spelling because we are using All About Spelling. In regards to the emergent readers why not get the suggested supplementary readers also. My ds is 7 and I am adding in many of the supplemental titles as well as a few other historical readers I've found. My ds had already...

Re: LHTH?
Yes that's what I meant of course this is quite a ways off as he is only 10 months old. I just like thinking ahead. Next school year dd2 will be 3.5 and ds2 will be nearly 2.

Re: LHTH?
I'm not in a rush for K with dd2 I was asking about the preschool program Little Hands to Heaven. I will not start her on K until she is 5.5 as her birthday is at the end of January. I was mostly wondering if I should do LHTH for two years or one.

LHTH?
I'm currently doing BLHFHG with my ds7, and LHFHG with my dd 4.75, I also have a dd 2.5, and a ds 10 months old. I was wondering when is the best time to do LHTH? I was thinking I could do it6 next year when dd2 is 3.5, and stretch it out for 2 years. dd2's birthday is in January, so I will start he...

Re: Reading Made Easy?
No pushing here dd loves doing school and has been asking to learn to read for a year now. I tried to introduce some learning to read last year, but she was reluctant. She has known all her letters and sounds since she was two, so like I said she can read cvc words, and blends really well. My dd is ...

Re: Reading Made Easy?
My dd is 4 will be 5 Oct. 31st, so no real rush here. She is very ready to learn. She knows her basic letter sounds, and is sounding out cvc words quite well. I think I will start from the beginning for a review and to get used to the books style.

Re: Reading Made Easy?
Cool that is good to here. So you only do the phonics three days a week? What do you do on the other two days if anything for phonics?

Reading Made Easy?
I'm starting Little Hearts with my dd on Monday, and I decided to go ahead and give Reading Made Easy a try with her. I have Phonics Pathways, and it worked for my ds, but my dd hates it. I just got Reading Made Easy yesterday, and after looking through it I'm really excited about using it. It reall...

LHFHG?
How long does LHFHG generally take? I'm doing Beyond with my 7 year old ds, and I plan to start Little Hearts next week with my 4.75 year old dd. I was hoping to come up with a rough schedule this weekend.

Re: Grammar in Bigger?
I was asking for next year, and he will be 8 then. I will probably just get RS 2, but I was just wondering if it would be too easy after primary language lessons.

Re: Explode the Code
I used Horizons K phonics with my ds, and we both hated it. In first grade we switched to Phonics Pathways, about half way through the book we started ETC book 4. He enjoyed it and it was good practice. This year we are finishing book 5, and I have 6-8 also, but not sure that he really needs them as...

Grammar in Bigger?
I'm doing Beyond this year with my 7 year old ds. He is in second grade, and we are doing the Beyond grammar as well as Primary Language lessons two days a week. I plan to do Bigger with him next year and was wondering if he should do the 2nd or 3rd grade rod and staff. I'm not familiar with rod and...
