LHFHG - Need Help
I am trying to do LHFHG with my 6 yo for 1st grade (and LHTH with my 4 1/2 yo) while my 2 yo is adding some excitement to the day. My problem is that I have a hard time getting things done. I think it is b/c I get so many distractions that what should take 15 min. takes 1 hour. Also, I have a proble...

Re: I'm home - a week early :o(
Paige, Just wanted to tell you that I by no means have been in such a horrible situation, but over the past few months I have felt a sense of loss too. We have had some friends that we were really close to and long story short after some recent events I don't know that things will ever be the same a...

Kimi, I can understand your concern about not wanting to push your son, but another thing to consider is that you don't want him to be bored either. If things are too easy he may not like that either. I think I would look at the placement chart and see where you think your son is and if something is...

Rebecca, You have had some really good suggestions passed onto you. We are just starting HOD, but I would agree if I were in your shoes, combining seems logical. I have a 6 yo (next month), a 4 yo (who thinks she should do everything her older sister does) and a 2 yo (little guy). We will be doing L...

I am glad to know the curriculum includes some art so I won't have ot buy books for her now. We are working on our first IHIP. I could use some help. Our oldest is usin...

I have no idea what they are talking about since there does not seem to be any listed in the curriculum online. Could someone please enlighten me? Should I get them? I am confused. :? Please help. Thank y...

I am a Betty (mostly)
I read the strengths and weaknesses in a previous post about Betty and Olive (haven't heard of this before). I have to say I am a Betty. I am relational and talk through things, my husband is much more Olive. The one difference is that I am not a "glass is half full" kind of person. I am more a "gla...

Answering your questions...
Thanks for the feedback. I have a 2 yo boy in addition to my 2 girls. So he would use Little Hands next. I am not sure if parts of Little Hands would be appropriate for him now or if I should just hold off. Maybe I'll understand better once I take a look at the curriculum. I have not ordered anythin...

Version of the Bible
I don't have much of an answer for you, but because there are often several Bibles to select from, it may depend on that particular Bible. NIV is pretty common these days, but I can't say for sure that is translation you are using. Which Bible are you using and which level is it for?

Welcome, Katie! Curriculum Discussion....
I am new to HOD, too. We have not purchased our curriculum, but I have spoken to Carrie on the phone to get some assistance in choosing curriculum. We previously tried BJU and switched to MFW K. BJU (very similar to ABeka) is very schoolish, but remember those curriculums are created for use in Chri...

I just want to add that I have been in a similar situation. We are switching from MFW (although it sounds like you may keep your older ones with MFW...not sure). My oldest will be 6 in July and she knows her letters, sound and can sound out simple words 3-4 letters. We originally started out w/ BJU ...
