Re: Sketchbook
Do you want to purchase one or print some pages and spiral bind them at an office store? I know where some free printables are that have half lined and half unlined.

Re: When does Spelling get better?
I agree with the slow and steady approach with dyslexia. My dh is dyslexic, and while DD12 has not been diagnosed, we believe she is. Anyhow, we use AAS with her, and while she hasn't made huge jumps, I can definitely tell that her spelling is gradually improving. It is very slow, but more and more ...

Re: Dual enrollment
I don't know too much about dual enrollment (my oldest is just going into 7th), but one thing I know is that in our state you can only do 2 dual enrollment classes a semester (or a year?). That's a part of your question anyway.

Re: Placement help for DD
Perfect! Thank you Mikki and Stephanie. My older girls are really good at summarizing and have had a lot of practice doing this. I've often told them, "Just the bones!" I think they will be thrilled when I tell them to give me some descriptions, especially DD10, who loves details.

Re: Placement help for DD
LynnH, I tried to search for the differences between narrations and summaries, and I didn't come up with anything after searching for a long time. Do you have any posts in mind? Or can you tell the difference here?

Getting Ready for HOD
After much research and prayer, I'm 99.9% certain I will switch at least my older girls over to HOD next year. I have already slowly been purchasing all my materials used that I'm going to use this upcoming year, and so I really must use that this year. I'm adding in DITHOR this year (level 4/5) for...

It's been helpful to me as well as an HOD lurker. Everything I'm reading is making me really excited to try it out.

Re: Oh, the choosing!
I'm glad I'm not the only one! :) Several more questions. When Scripture is laced throughout the guides, is it more forced or does it truly fit the situation? Also, more practical questions. When you order for a child in the extension range, do you order Economy, Basic, AND Extension or just Economy...

Re: Oh, the choosing!
I keep reading and re-reading the posts. Very helpful information. This allays my fears or impressions I got from reading reviews. I am enjoying reading through the day-to-day assignments, and it does give an extra layer of what it's like to do an HOD guide. Thank you all so much for taking the time...

Re: Oh, the choosing!
Melissa, I think I got the impression of one sided because many of the reviews I read were for the younger guides. I've looked specifically for the older guide reviews, and there weren't very many of them. I don't mind a Christian worldview. That's actually what I want. Thank you everyone for your t...
