Re: SM Questions
I'm not quite sure how it works out with Singapore Math but as far as math goes, Engineering minded folks should really get into Alegra in 8th grade. I didn't have that option in public school and had to wait until 9th grade and was behind when I got to college.

Re: homeschooling with a newborn
Homeschooling with my newborn was easy and stayed easy up till she recently turned 3... She is less easily directed these days.
But HOD works well with all sorts of families.

Re: masking tape issue.
Oh wow. That's too bad. Maybe one of the previous suggestions will work, to restore the finish. Did it just make a dull "B" or did it remove color as well? I have real hardwood floors too, I will try painters tape or something. It removed color too. I have some maple floors and some oak, I don't kn...

Re: Thinking about starting Little Hearts
LHFHG is a great program and I would agree with pp that one day at a time is best. We have occasionally doubled up over the years and they don't retain as much. Slow and steady wins the race. If your son enjoys it you might occasionally use a rainy Saturday to get an extra day in. But you don't need...

Re: masking tape issue.
Thanks ladies for the ideas. I was quite shocked, my kids have put tape all over the house over the years and I've never had it damage anything, leftover adhesive sometimes but not actual damage. Life lesson I guess!

Re: masking tape issue.
Sorry to hear this! We had issues with masking tape residue on our ceramic tile when left on too long, so switched to electrical tape and it works much better. HTH, Kathy No, I don't have any adhesive left on the floor, the tape literally pulled the finish off the floor. It was on the floor for 4 d...

masking tape issue.
Oh no! I left the masking tape B on my hardwood floor too long. When I peeled it off it pulled off the finish. I now have a capital B on my floor forever.

I usually make up my own tune for the fingerplays if none is listed. Just personal preference I think.

I would agree with the pp's, she should be ready to move ahead. I would just start out half speed and see how it goes.
