Foreign languages
Hi all! I was just curious to know what you all do for foreign language study with your kids, if any at all. I am very interested in learning and teaching the kids German, but don't have a lot of money to spend on a decent study guide. Does anyone have suggestions for one that won't break the bank? ...

Re: Confused whether to choose Little Hearts or Beyond Littl
Thank you ladies! I am using My Father's World K program this year with dd. I used it with ds as well and he did great, but he wasn't as quick to pick up on certain things as dd is. Plus, it was my 1st shot at homeschooling and he was my 1st child, so I could have done things differently too. I real...

Re: Confused whether to choose Little Hearts or Beyond Littl
I will try to give you an overview of where dd is at this point in her kindergarten year. In math, she has already learned or is learning the majority of the things that you listed for math. We haven't done a whole lot of history other than covering the creation section of Genesis. In phonics, we ar...

Confused whether to choose Little Hearts or Beyond Little
So I received the catalog in the mail today. I am a bit confused as to whether I should place my daughter in Little Hearts or Beyond Little Hearts for next year. Right now she is in kindergarten but she has learned a lot of what is described in Little Hearts. She hasn't had complete phonics yet but ...

Teaching two differnet levels
I have pretty much decided to go with HOD next school year. Currently I am teaching two different curriculum levels, K & 2nd. Both from the same company and it is going fine. what I am wondering, is how will it be using HOD once we get into the higher grades and I have 3 kiddos to teach. Is there a ...

Re: Changing curriculum
Thank you very much Julie! That definitely did help. My decision to switch to HOD is getting more clear all the time. I felt kind of like a traitor at first thinking of changing, but it's the kiddos that count! Thanks again!

Thank you for the input! Is Rod & Staff on this site? I couldn't find it anywhere, maybe I missed it. Would like to see a sample.

Re: The Reading Lesson
I should have been more specific with my spelling question. I was referring to my ds who will be 3rd grade this fall. Sorry!
Thanks,

Hello Carrie,
Do you suppose you might ever come to MT? Have you been here before?

The Reading Lesson
Hello all! I am new to this board but have already posted a few questions, the first few of many to come I'm sure. :) I am looking at doing BHFHG w ds this fall. As I have been reading through this site and reading things over and over again, I have decided maybe to start dd with the 1st gradeish pr...

Re: Changing curriculum
Wow! thank you all for the great advice. I am still in prayer mode about what to do for next year, but I love getting advice from those of you that have used this program. It looks wonderful to me and very similar to what we have been using, MFW, but maybe a little more detailed. We love MFW but I f...

Changing curriculum
I am looking at changing the curriculum we've been using and starting with something new next year. The Bigger Heart for God curriculum on this website is pretty close to where we are this year in our study as far as history goes. We have already learned much of what is in it. However, in other area...
