Re: History in Bigger is draaaaging...

waterandclay, While you can easily add additional read-alouds to Bigger's history if desired, I did want to clarify that it's still important that children doing Bigger actually learn to listen to, comprehend, and narrate from the higher level history books that are scheduled in Bigger's plans. Thi...

Re: History in Bigger is draaaaging...

I'm doing Bigger with a 10 year old, and a 7 year old. The younger sometimes has a harder time narrating the history readings, but I'm guessing that will develop with time. I check out picture books and other readers from the library each week to go along with the history readings. If I read another...

Re: Help Art Projects are a FLOP....

I write a week in review for Bigger on my blog. We're on week 4 this week, and will post Friday. I usually post lots of pics. I would check the week in review section of the forum here to find other families doing Bigger. There are a few of us who post for Bigger weekly there. I loved seeing pics la...

Re: Help Art Projects are a FLOP....

My kids just did this project a few weeks ago. My oldest's fish showed up more distinctly (I think) because he draws with a heavier hand than my little guy. You can kind of see how he pressed hard into the paper. He took artistic liberty with the instructions. My little guy's showed up until he got ...

Re: Timeline??? For those who have done Bigger and Preparing

I love those whole walls with the figures on them. :) Those are fantastic and I would love to have something like that. We just didn't have the space to that, and to be honest, I didn't think of it. We just did what was in the guides with the folder timeline in Bigger and then the accordion ...

Re: Bigger 4th grader/quest.

We are reading most of the extensions. I added an additional science program and a few other things for him to make things a little more challenging. I own the Preparing guide, so we do level 3 dictations. I just started writing about our Bigger journey on my blog (in my signature.) You can see what...

Re: Timeline??? For those who have done Bigger and Preparing

I just posted about our timeline on my blog. I made timeline figures that correlate with the timeline activities on day 5. We purchased a timeline that was already made. We will still do the timeline activity, but I like being able to see the figures all together at the same time.

Re: Week in Review August 20-24

I moved this from another post. I had it under the wrong date. This was our first week in Bigger. Yay! It went so well. I still haven't gotten my blog designed, but I'm trying to overcome my perfectionism (ahem) and get our first week posted anyway. I plan to post our full curriculum plans, but I'm ...
