It depends what manual you are using. Little Hearts, Beyond & Bigger are all scheduled for 5 days and 34 weeks. Preparing & CTC are scheduled for 4 days and 35 weeks.

Re: I need some options
Rebecca, I like doing a 4 day week with Bigger so we can have Fridays to add other stuff. I don't continue from where we left off, 1) because we have a 36 school weeks, I try and double up and 2) it would really bother me :D. One day I will double up math, the next grammar etc. I do history and scie...

I am not sure if HOD sells them or not, you can check their store.
I do know that Rainbow Resource has them:

Re: A few CTC questions.
Kyle, Yes you are right about the dictation passage. You have them do it until they can do it correctly then they move onto to the next dictation passage. I believe it may be referring to the first dictation passage of the unit, but could be wrong. We finished up unit four last week and did the Isra...

Re: Started CTC today--a question
Hi, Story Time is designed for the "Teacher" to read to the child; however, you can have the child read it his/herself if you need them to. You would read a chapter or a few pages of the story and then have the child narrate what he/she has heard from one or two paragraphs. The Narration Tips is for...

Re: Write with Best - Descriptive Paragraph Hint
What a great idea. We just did Day 7 today. My daughter chose her baby brother as her object and she kept going "My Object...." she was having a lot of fun....I think she would really enjoy this for spurring on the ideas. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Need help with A Child's History of the World
Polly, I also have the 1997 Calvert version of CHOW and it is what we used for Preparing last year. This is the copy that is scheduled because in the Front of Preparing under History 'Star' Resources it says A Child's History of the World by Virgil M. Hillyer (Calvert Education Services, 1997) note:...

Re: Encyclopedia for Preparing's Research section
We've found a Bible dictionary to be really helpful for some of the research questions too. I think there's one listed in the posts I linked above if that helps. :D Blessings, Carrie My mom gave us a "Student's Bible Dictionary" last year for Christmas. It has been perfect so far for using with CTC!

Re: My kids are stressing over the sketches..
We had this trouble last year when my younger dd did this. She is enjoys drawing but had a hard time following the sketches. I finally told her to not worry about the steps and look at the final picture. I didn't care if her deer looked like a dog as long as she did her best (and it had 4 legs etc)....

Re: Thinking aloud here and need advice...
Rebecca, I would go ahead and do Preparing even though you did CHOW last year. The way it is intertwined with the Bible and Grandpa's box puts a different focus on the world history and is fabulous. I believe I remember reading that Carrie will be including extensions for the higher grades in all he...
