Re: Looking for some encouragement
I just want to pipe in here to let you know that we had a similar experience a few years ago when my aunt was dying of cancer. She was our neighbor and my mom and I decided to take care of her in her last months. I had a second, first, and kinderguy at the time. We did not get anything but reading a...

Research
I was wondering if any of you lovely ladies had some tips on how you do the Research Box with your Preparing and Creation to Christ children? I am finding that going to Wikpedia works best for us, however, there is sooooo much information there that my dc get frustrated finding what they need. I try...

DITHOR Question for 6/7/8 Guide
I am not quite sure what is being asked on Day 2 of the Biography section in the 6/7/8 workbook. The Teacher's Guide is not giving me any information either. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!!!

Re: How long to continue handwriting?
To help my children learn Bible passages I have them copy in cursive a certain passage each day for a week. If they can say the passage to me by heart on day 4 they do not have to write it out. It works for handwriting and memorizing.

I LOVE how you are going to include readings from people who converted to Christianity or who were missionaries in those areas. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that!!!!!!!

Re: Oral Narration "timing"
I usually call them over to me when I have a minute to spare. Sometimes it is right after they read the assignment and sometimes it is within the hour. I try not to let it go past an hour's time so they don't forget. That is just how it works out in our family of four guides!

Re: You Time
arstephia ~ great thought to chew on. I for sure have been there where I thought I needed or deserved a "chunk" of me time. I like the perspective that you shared and I can't wait to read that article during my next "Me Time"! Ahhhhh...that truly was great! Thanks!

Re: You Time
I am really glad I started this post! Thank you for all the insights. Just a week and half ago I unloaded a bunch of life-killers for me. On top of homeschooling my four children I was also working at our church 10+ hours a week as the secretary, in charge of and teaching Sunday School, getting comm...

You Time
I don't know if this is o.k. to put on this board so go ahead and take it off, Carrie, if it is not.
I would like to know what you homeschooling moms out there do for your down time, not including time with the Lord. How much time do you take and how often do you do something just for you?

Re: To use or not to use, that is the question.
I will be honest in saying that I was leaning toward doing the study but just wanted to see why someone would not chose to do it. I am looking forward to diving in and having some fun!! Thanks for all the responses!
