Melanie, I'm so glad you found that out! I remember when I was in about 2nd. grade, and I first got glasses. I told my mom, "Isn't the pastor's new suit neat?" My mom said, "He has worn that suit almost every Sunday for at least a year." I said, "Oh no, mom, this new one has stripes." She said, "It ...

Very exciting, Sarah! You're going to know those CD songs well - my oldest son STILL sings them along with his younger brother when it's music time. It actually seems they are having a type of contest about who can sing them louder, and my baby seems to happily howl along with them - it's a very lou...

Hooray for you, Mary! Yes, Melanie has got me laughing too! MamaBear23cubs - they're typically very fast about sending out orders, but I bet Carrie will get back to you.

Hi Mamajuli! Like Melanie and blessedmomof4 said so well, the science text is a nice reinforcement of the hands-on science experiments. My children really love the hands-on science parts - in fact, they often redo them to show my hubbie when he comes home. HOD's time allotments are short enough that...

Hi Sharon! I am doing LHFHG and BiggerHFHG, along with DITHOR right now. I did post a very loose version of our schedule earlier in the year, as well as a more detailed version later. I'll just link you to those posts here: http://www.heartofdakota.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=95&highlight= http://www....

Hi Kerby! So glad you are here! I think you could easily do Little Hearts... spaced out over two years, doing the left side of the plans one day, the right side of plans the next day. We did that this school year with my son until just this week, which now we began to do both sides each day. This is...

Just give narrating some time ladies - it is so worth it! My son had trouble too at first, and he's really good at narrating now (probably better than me!). My almost 5 yo spontaneously narrated today too - I too thought he was just interrupting, and he actually did a pretty good job of narrating.

Hi! I just wanted to say that when we used Beyond... last year it took about 4 times for my son to get into the devotional. I'm so glad I kept with it because now that we're doing Bigger Hearts... this year, it has the follow-up devotional to the one in Beyond... and he really likes it. We've had so...

I've found all the guides really do lay open flat, once you just "smooth" them out. We had trouble with spiral binding other books - they didn't seem to stand up to the test of time as well, and it also bothered me not to read the title on the spine. Did you get a chance to read water2wine's post ab...

That's what I do too, water2wine! I just label the top of the sticky note with the subsection, like "Dictation" etc., and move it as needed throughout the year. My son actually just uses them now. In fact, another neat thing he does for copying a paragraph for notebooking is put a sticky note right ...

I'm so excited for you to begin, Allison! We just got done with "Bigger..." today, and the boys are still "playing out" their history activity. This happens often! In response to your questions, you said... My 8 yr old has read the book selections for the first 13 weeks of the emerging reader set al...

Hi Ccharley! You can totally do LHTH and LHFHG at the same time, even with a toddler! I've done LHTH twice now, and it truly only took me 20-30 minutes a day. I'm doing LHFHG for the second time around now, and it takes me maybe a the most 1 1/2 hours a day. I think you will find doing both of these...
