Love it!!! Now to think of how to tweak it to fit our family. Thanks for the neat idea!

Re: Spelling Rules
For vocabulary in the older guides, you can use the bold faced words from the dictation as vocabulary words for those kids that need it. You can have them look up the word in any dictionary, write the definition and any synonyms and antonyms. Then have them use it in a sentence that shows they under...

Re: Sneak Peek #5: New World Geography Guide
Hmmm! I already have two DDs who seem to enjoy arguing. Giving them tools to make them better at it means I'm going to have to up my game. And DH had better as well! I am really excited about this as I already own The Fallacy Detective but never figured when was a good time to use it. Now I k...

Dictation Levels
Hello,
Haven't found an answer to this doing a search. How many levels of dictation are there? Just trying to get an idea of whether we will be doing these in high school or not.

Re: You Time
For this year, I have decided to take a Wednesday night sabbatical. For the last nine years I have either helped in Awana, or done nursery for the Awana workers - every. single. Wednesday. This year I'm taking Wednesday evenings for just me and God. :D I has been wonderful. DH takes the four girls t...

Re: Where To Place a High Schooler
While I cannot claim to be an expert as we're in our first year with HOD, I can speak to the experience of switching from a classical mindset to CM methodology. It takes some time, so I decided to focus on one new skill at a time. My girls are strong in their grammar skills, so we first learned the ...

Re: Why is the Science in MtMM not Credit worthy for HS?
Ladies, As you're pondering your science options, I will share that a more typical sequence would be to do as follows: 9th grade Either Physical Science or Integrated Physics or Chemistry (IPC is preferred by most states over physical science) 10th grade Biology 11th grade Chemistry 12th grade Phys...

Re: If you have had your guide put in a 3-ring binder
Very glad I did this to ours! I put a week at a time into my DD's smaller notebook in page protectors so she can check things off with a dry erase marker. The rest I keep in a large binder. Each Friday when I go through her notebook, I swap out the pages. The other pages have held up very well. Ther...

Re: Pencil grip issues
I don't have any words of wisdom, but I can tell you that my second DD, who has some sensory issues, has a crossover grip as well. Her writing is not at all pretty, and she prints rather than writes in cursive. We spent much time with it when she was in second and third grades, but we both ended up ...

Re: Why is the Science in MtMM not Credit worthy for HS?
Thanks, Carrie, for the information about beefing up MtMM science. This gives me something to ponder, and also brings up a question. I plan to use MtMM next year with my then 9th grader. We have used Rev2Rev science this year, although not the Advanced version (for reasons too complicated to get int...

Re: Alternative for burgess books.
Hi Karla, I just thought I'd mention that some kids just have a hard time sitting and listening. :? For some, the cuddle time on the couch is enough to open their ears. Two of my four could handle that, but the other two could not. So I try to mix things up. For my DD that I am reading Burgess to ri...

Rev2Rev Unit 17 question
I'm hoping someone who's done this before can help me. We are looking at unit 17 and not finding any instructions for box 8 in the Student Notebook. It's possible that we just keep missing it. Can anyone tell me what is supposed to go in this box? Thanks.
