Re: Science for STEM Students

Yes HOD will prepare your child for STEM. My son loves science and has always enjoyed studying science. We have used HOD science as is. We have added to science because that is his interest. Each child has different interests so through the years I have added music, theater, art, karate, and science...

Re: MTMM for High School

If you do Rev2Rev as an 8th grader you will be doing some of high school work in 8th grade. The science in Rev2Rev states it is high school worthy. If you do history as is and combine with MTMM history you will have 1 credit. That is not changing history, but using as is. If you add to science in MT...

Re: Evaporated milk for Beyond 26 day 4

We have 1/2 our family drinking soy and the other 1/2 regular milk. I can't recall which milk I used for this experiment. But, when we made ice cream we used soy and it worked great. My daughter loves ice cream so she is tickled to be able to make it whenever she desires (within reason of course). I...

Prayers on finding answers to your Lyme's disease. I live in Lyme territory, and know many with this disease. They have found success with alternative medicine-naturopathy. Praise that you will be returning to HOD. I have found it to the best curriculum. It is academically sound and keeps my childre...

Yes it will work. You will have to match up the weekly map with your book and CD.

Sorry about the typos above. I have lost so many messages on the board I don't dare fix them.

Re: Letter Help, Again Please

When my daughter seemed behind in her speech I had her evaluated by the ps. If I had sought help earlier than three it could have been a different agency. It was very intimidating to have a team come to our home and evaluate my daughter. She received preschool at the ps for free. We received parent ...

Re: Problem with WH timeline CD

Mother joy,
When I have had trouble with my computer and printing CD's I have gone into my local Office Max and had them print my documents. Sometimes the extra cost is worth my ease and sanity. The quality is better than my printer.

Re: need suggestions to help DD

Rice, I want to encourage you that our God is more than able to help your dd. I have a dd that the experts said had autism. I have slowly and steadily used HOD, speech therapy, resources and much prayer. Now my dd is just average. I can suggest some resources for dd's language issues. We have used r...

Re: Oh my I just figured it out but with one problem

Raindrops, My dd takes 2 1/4 hours in Bigger. She goes straight through as she would be distracted by a break. We have table time with older son and I do math, notebook, spelling, etc with both children. Could your 4 yo do some PreK activities at that time? My older son is highly distracted and this...

Re: Oh my I just figured it out but with one problem

You could read story time books from Bigger and do the activities in Bigger with both your children at the same time. Since your child is use to listening those skills must be already established. Being new to HOD and starting two guides would be easier with only one story time. When your 7 yo goes ...

Re: Guilt about using HOD and not planning my own

MJ, I am praying for you and your wonderful family of 8 kids. What a blessing! The Lord knows the plans and we can rest in that promise. Your children's education will be so rich because of the many opportunities they will have from their interactions with one another and completing their daily chor...

Re: Trying to decide if I should separate my kids this year

Gretchen, My son will be in Rev2Rev this year. The only thing I would suggest is that your 8th grader do the Exploration Education Advanced science kit and the 6th grader do the standard kit. According to the website, there are 180 lessons for the advanced kit and 108 lessons for the standard kit. I...

Re: Week-in-Review June 2014

Melissa, I am not Julie, but I will share my experience. I have used the same Common Place Book since CTC. My son finished RTR and he plans to use it for Rev2Rev. My son doesn't like to write too much so nothing extra has been added only what required in the TM. My son was so intrigued by this conce...
