Re: Rev2Rev unit 24?

It says "After listening..." in unit 22 day 3, unit 24 day 2, unit 26 day 2, and unit 28 day 2. It says after listening on a few other days, but there is an assignment to listen to CD. I was just making sure if this is a typo or if I need to assign something to listen to. Although it isn't a big dea...

Re: Rev2Rev unit 24?

Thank you fivelittlepeaches, I see that in other units it says the same thing. It is actually throughout the entire guide. It says, "After listening, do a summary oral narration." I just want to make sure I am not missing something.

Rev2Rev unit 24?

In Rev2Rev unit 24 day 2, it says read page 65-77. Then is says after listening, give a summary oral narration. What were we listening to? This is in the independent reading about history. Am I doing something wrong by having my son read independently? Another box, independent history study does hav...

Re: Week-in-Review Jan. 26-30, 2015

Lynn, Thank you for your feedback about dictation. I will be leaning on, "We can do all things, through Christ who strengthens me." My son does 3 words at a time. If I give him more words he mixes up the order or forgets words. Then they are spelled wrong or written wrong because of trying to rememb...

Re: Week-in-Review Jan. 26-30, 2015

Just thought I'd share a little bit about how Rev2Rev is going for my son. I do see so much growth through the years thanks to the wonderful curriculum in HOD. It has made my teaching so easy. Open & go! Some highlights of carryover from other years. This history has resonated with my son. He likes ...

Re: Turn of events:(

Pam, I am so sorry to hear of your loss of parakeet. My 2nd oldest daughter had parakeets. When we started hs she researched how to care for parakeets. She had one that lasted for years, but every time we tried to get another the new one died. Then we received an older parakeet from a friend. That p...

Re: Prayer Request (OT)

Praying for you. I have been in a similar situation. What I realized was that by being obedient to the Lord to offer the help that was what I was called to do. The person also declined the help. I know the Lord was protecting our family and our homeschooling. It was surprising how quickly our routin...

Re: Rev to Rev science -- answer key?

Five little peaches, I am using advanced. What level are you using. Mine came with a student logbook and a teacher manual. The teacher manual has tests and the answers. I also have intermediate, and that included a teacher manual. I don't recall if it had tests at that level. As long as you purchase...

Re: HELP! I'm SCARED to open the BOX!

Shannon, I am so glad to read you are ready for Monday. Praying for a wonderful year. I can relate to errors doing in Preparing. To compensate for my error I created a curriculum that developed the skills. It was a lot of work for me. I so appreciate what Carrie has done with HOD. What I realized is...

Re: Anyone with winter woes?

Pam, I can relate to winter woes. Sometimes it is too cold to go outside. I can relate to being older too. 11 is a nice age to develop homemaking skills. Baking, meal prep, c cleaning, and child care. Would she have the skills to be a mother's helper or babysit in your home. Another homeschool famil...

Re: Bigger Bible Study

Julie, thank you for validating the method I am using. Thank you for the explanation of the purpose of Bible study. It is so fun to be going through Bigger the second time. I took LHTH and thoroughly completed each guide before starting the next guide. This has made Bigger so successful. Thank you l...

Bigger Bible Study

I am wondering if I am doing Bible Study in Bigger incorrectly. It is day 5 of each unit. I am in Unit 18. So if I am doing it incorrectly, I will have time to fix it. My daughter has made tremendous progress so far with her language and attention so perhaps it is the final hurdle. It only af...

Re: Student Notebooking Pages - writing utinsel?

Robbi, my son uses Crayola Erasable Colored Pencils for timeline pictures and Draw&Write Through History pictures. For written narration and other writing he uses Frixion Clicker Erasable .07 ball pen. I found them at Office Supply store and Walmart. The clicker pen has built in eraser. It only eras...

Re: Science for STEM Students

I forgot to share my Chemistry experiences. In high school we did labs with fire and chemicals. My friend grabbed the heating element while hot. It stuck to her hand, leaving a coil scar. In college Chemistry, the professor was thrilled to show how sturdy the new glass shield was so he punched it. W...
