To Finish CTC or Bump to Res to Ref
Hi! I would love some advice from one of the experts. :D My oldest turned 12 in January. She did LHFHG for K, Beyond for 1st, then we took a break exploring all the things. We came back for about 10 units of Preparing at one point and got bit by the exploration bug yet again. Now, she is almost done...

Re: How are you all doing?
We are doing okay down here in the South. Everything is cancelled, restaurants can only serve through drive thru and take out, and many other things have now been closed. I think the outbreak is definitely worse than we know here. Testing just isn't very widespread yet. It is in our city though and ...

I only ya e two children, so I try to check each box as they complete it. If I’m in the middle of something, I simply get to it as soon as I can.

Re: Any resolutions for the new year?
This is a good thread! I’ve been thinking about this lately. For my 12-year old daughter, I want to work on my own patience, while still working on her diligence and persistence with work. We are really trying to work on time management with her. She is ADHD and could easily stare into space all da...

Re: Any resolutions for the new year?
Ladies, I am enjoying reading about your kiddos and your goals for the coming year. :D So much of what you said resonates with me too! :D I think it would be fun to have a daughter in the mix too, spiderpetal. Definitely a different vibe. :D Norrfam, when your daughter is staring into space, it may...

Re: What do you look forward to the most in HOD each day?
For my 12-year old in CTC: 1.) We sit down together while she does the watercolor paintings. I know it’s an independent box, but she really likes me sitting down with her through this. She is thoroughly enjoying this part of the day. I swear I can see her stress melt away. 2.) Storytime- The history...

Re: Staying Motivated As a Homeschool Mom
Oh my! I needed to read that, Carrie! So many people around us seem to be putting their children in school. On top of this, I’ve had so many health struggles that it can be so hard to push through. We know we are called to this though. We continually push forward, and even though some days are hard ...

Yes! For sure! I think she’ll love the books. I have a tendency to push my youngest, but I’m trying to resist that urge!

Re: Check-in: What guides are you using?
Thank you for the welcome back! Since posting, we’ve decided to move our 10 year old down to Preparing. I’m just worried about the length of work for her as we move forward. She currently does 4 hours of dance a week and does get worn out easily. I think moving her to Preparing will work really well...

Re: CTC Extension Books
Unfortunately, I didn’t buy these new. I borrowed the set from a friend actually. I’m sure I can come up with a schedule for the book though. That shouldn’t be too hard. I need to see if any other extensions have changed since then. A Cry From Egypt looks really good!

Re: Check-in: What guides are you using?
Hi! We are back to HOD after a hiatus for a while. My girls are 10(4th) and 11(6th) and currently doing CTC together. My oldest is using the extensions. They both seem to place well there, but I’m fully prepared to move either my youngest down to Preparing or my oldest up to RTR if needed. One da at...
