Re: I Can't Decide! Help!
One thing a friend of mine does for world gepgraphy is simply to have her young kids write to penpals in foreign countries :) I'm not sure what resource she uses to get the penpals, but it sounds like a fun way to cover geography with a personal touch! This is something you could easily do once a we...

Introducing
Dana Sharon :) I have been MIA for a while, because our little blessing came very early- September 14 instead of November 8! I believe I shared this news before, but this is the first picture I took of her at home. She is doing well, she was in the NICU for 37 days because she took her time learning...

Re: Reading independent boxes to them
Also, you still have the Storytime box and the rotating Bible Study/Geography box where you can read out loud to them in CTC, while letting them take over their Independent box readings and assignments

If you do Bigger 4 days a week, I believe it adds 9 more weeks to the guide.

Re: Singapore Teacher's Guide???
I agree to buy the Bigger Hearts Guide-you will be using the whole guide later anyway when you finish Beyond, and there is a schedule for 3a/3b in the appendix for when you finish 2a/2b, so it is a worthwhile purchase. When you use the hands on activities in the Bigger guide's daily plans, you don't...

Re: My username is now innaccurate...UPDATE 2
Today Dana took one feeding from a bottle, and did a good job trying to latch onto me at a tube feeding :) The occupational therapist says she is doing better than expected for her age in many ways, praise God. Her sisters love her so much, and Daddy is over the moon with joy :D Of course, school is...

Re: My username is now innaccurate...UPDATE
As of yesterday, Dana is breathing on her own :) She is tolerating tube feedings of expressed milk, which they are steadily increasing, and she will be evaluated by an occupational therapist today as to her readiness to try eating by mouth. She is out of the incubator and in an open crib, as she is ...

because our baby decided to arrive early :) I am now a blessed mom of 5. Dana Sharon was born on September 14 at 1:15 AM, at 32 weeks, weighing 5 lbs 14 oz and measuring 19 inches long. I was able to deliver her by VBAC and she is doing quite well. She was born crying (a very good sign), and with a ...

Re: Confused :-( yet again...pls help!
If you do Bigger with Extensions, the Appendix of Bigger includes a daily reading schedule and written assignment suggestions for each day of the week (written narrations or drawing a picture with a written caption, for example). Bigger is a very teacher-intensive guide which will get all the skills...

Re: Help Please!!!
Celestialmom, you will probably find that all experienced homeschool moms have been "curriculum junkies". Consider the time and cost of all those curricula you hopped around to as the tuition to your Homeschooling University :) I hope you and your son enjoy your year with CTC-my daughter (turning 13...

Re: Heads up on supply needed for Rev to Rev Science
One other thing you may need to get (I didn't own one before using EE science) is a low-temperature hot glue gun and glue sticks. They are very inexpensive, though.

Re: Question regarding Beyond scheduling with 3rd grader
Personally I think he would get more out of Bigger done at regular pace than using Beyond doubled up. Have you used any of the materials yet? Did you buy directly from HOD? Maybe you can contact them and work something out, if that is the case. If not (if you bought used or have written in any of th...
