Re: How to use Beyond & MFW Adventures together?

I switched midyear from Adventures to Beyond. I had a good experience with both curriculums but I am very pleased I mad the switch to HOD. I do think it gets really confusing to try to combine two. It just becomes too much to juggle unless you are a very organized type of person. That being said, I ...

Little Hands to Heaven

For the fingerplay/songs...do you make up your own tune to these or does the manual usually tell you what the tune is?

Re: Cheerful Cursive vs. Italic D Handwriting books

I have had good results from Italic Manuscript in 1st and 2nd grade before transitioning to cursive. Though I liked the Italics style cursive, I realized pretty quickly that it would take a lot more of my time to learn and teach a style of writing that was so different from what I learned. So, we di...

Re: Anyone use CLE Learn to Read w/ HOD?

Just wanted to say hello and sorry that no one responded. I am guessing that means there are not many that have used it. I haven't either. Have you been able to find out any more information since you last posted this?

Re: I'm a HOD dropout :(

That's good advice Mama Mary. I don't think I could do multiple programs either, unless one of them was the preschool or kindergarten program. I just think it would be too overwhelming for me.

Re: I'm a HOD dropout :(

Terri, when I read your post I had the thought "I've been there!" so I thought I might encourage you with a few things the Lord has been teaching me. I kind of went through what you are feeling with your main curriculum with math and really other curriculum too. I wanted to have my master plan all f...

Re: Writing

Oh I'm sorry, I wasn't very clear. I meant writing, as in, composition. I thought I saw something about Write with the Best or some other curriculum that you add to Rod and Staff english and I was wondering what grade this is suggested. My daughter is taking off on her writing, on her own, and I jus...

Writing

What writing curriculum is suggested and when is it introduced? I don't see it in the listings of the different packages, though I'm sure I must be blind as a bat.

I love For The Children's Sake by Susan Schaeffer Macaulay. This one inspired me so much when I first read it.

Re: History in Biggers?

Hi there. Rest easy! You won't have to cover the Vietnam war in Bigger. The main spine, A First Book in American History, only goes up through the Civil War. Which book were you looking at?

Yes that's the one. I suppose that's a bad idea if there is not enough room to write!
