Re: foreign language curriculum

We are using La Clase Divertida with my 7 and 8 year old. I haven't used it yet, but I have looked around and it seems like everything I have been looking for while the kids are young. I like the hands on (which was always the most fun when studying a language and new culture) portion and the fact ...

Re: Repeating LHFHG...What do you think?

Little boys and their wiggles... sigh - I soooo understand. :D Would you mind sharing the unit number you are working on? I think that would affect my advice. Thanks! :D In Christ, Julie I don't mind at all! We are on Unit 22 this week. Keep in mind this is the child that never wanted me to sit and...

Update: Julie or Carrie...Repeating LHFHG...

<<<OK, my ds5 be 6 in July - is doing good/okay with math and phonics - but he is just not listening to the history, or storytime so I think it would be good to keep him in LHFHG another year but use the 1st grade options for math and science text, and if he is ready the Emerging readers - if I read...

Re: New to HOD and Have At Least One Question!

Hi! Welcome to HOD!!! I just started with HOD this last fall and we are loving it! on the guide: I had asked about how people keep their guide in good shape and I got several responses - the guide is really pretty durable - I just didn't want spills or writing on it - so I am by no means knocking th...

Re: Suggestions for a newbie on school supplies

Very exciting to be on the brink of starting Bigger Hearts! :D We sure loved that treatment of American history. I'm not sure if this will help or not, but here's a link to a post I did with pics of us getting ready to do Bigger Hearts... http://www.heartofdakota.com/board3/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5531...

on the board here Carrie addresses this issue http://www.heartofdakota.com/board3/search.php?keywords=singapore&t=6248&sf=msgonly You can always buy the practice books if you feel like they are lacking - just a thought. I have switched from abeka to HOD and using Singapore this year is our first so ...

Re: Questions from a newbie

Hi there! A good friend of mine introduced me to HOD and we are hoping to use it for the coming school year. We have four kids who are 21 months apart. The oldest two are boys and they are almost six and recently turned four. What would be the best way to combine teaching them? The girls will be co...

Re: What does half speed look like?

I am considering finishing LHFHG half speed and then starting BLHFHG half speed if he still is not ready - he is having a hard time listening during storytime or anytime I am reading to him without a book with pictures - we we do the history portion he is constantly asking me who or what the picture...

Re: HOD Sales or Promotions

When I am purchasing good quality homeschool curriculum from great folks such as the HOD family, I find it a priviledge to buy books published AND printed in the good 'ol USA! :D Plus, when we are purchasing from HOD (or another family-based publisher such as HOD), we are sustaining our econony and...

Re: HOD Sales or Promotions

Not that I am complaining about the prices - its simply if I can save some it makes the deal even sweeter - ;) I hope this doesn't offend because that wasn't my intentions!

Thanks
