Re: High School Level Writing
So this got me thinking, is the science with the extension package not high school credit worthy? I am really lost right now. I dont know if my son will go to college or not. He has some interest right now, but more geared towards art then any academics. I want him to be prepared to go to college if...

Re: High School Level Writing
I have looked into the state requirements but have not started a transcript because I am just totally lost. To be honest I havent even been grading him. I have never really done grades for our homeschool, so i dont really even know what to do for that. I have looked into it some, but I feel pretty o...

High School Level Writing
Hi, My two oldest are both doing Rev2Rev (7th & 9th). They are just doing what comes with the program and the 9th grader is doing the Extension Package. This is our first year using HOD I am starting to get worried that my high schooler is not doing enough writing. Should I add something else in? I ...

1st Grade Math in LHFHG
I finished up Singapore Essentials B math during the first 9 weeks of the guide. Now I want to move on to the Primary Math. Do I need to get the next guide to do this book? I should I just get the Singapore Textbook?

Schooling Year Round
Hello, I was wondering if anyone here schools year round and what there break schedule looks like. I want to take more breaks during the school year. We don't have any laws in CA to school a certain amount of time. I am thinking of doing 6 weeks on/1 week off, plus the regular Thanksgiving/Christmas...

How Do You Know When To Start A Child?
My youngest is going to be 4 next month. I started LHTH with him about two weeks ago. We got through 5 days of work in that time. He has no interest in doing it. There have been times we have done it and had fun, but he still has no interest in doing it when I try to get him to. I tell him "lets pla...

Re: Using Rev2Rev for High School
That's why I was thinking about adding in some other reading. I don't have the inventor study books and I don't want to add more cost on lol. That's why I thought about getting the Apologia because I can get the older version cheap. But I wasn't sure sure if that would be too much.

Re: Using Rev2Rev for High School
They have only done 4 days of science. My husband has been doing it with them. They mostly have done experiments and answered questions. I guess I am used to lots of reading for science.

Re: Using Rev2Rev for High School
He is using the advanced version, but they dont seem to be doing very much. I will look at the Geography guide and see if I can read the introduction online.

Using Rev2Rev for High School
Hi :) I just started using Rev2Rev for my 7th and 9th graders last week (as well as one on LHTG and one on LHTH - loving it). I have read a thread that tells how to add in some things for high school for Rev2Rev, but it is a couple of years (or maybe more) older. So I wanted to make sure I get in ev...

Using Encyclopedias?
I am wondering if we will need to use any encylopedias with HOD. I have found several encyclopedias that I bought last year (before we found Christ) and I was looking through them to realize they all have an evolution slant to them. So I was thinking of just getting rid of them (because I can trade ...

Re: Too Much Reading?
Thank you so much!! That is so helpful! I was finally able to order Rev2Rev today for my two oldest and the guide for LHFHG to complete what I have for my 6 yr old. I can't wait to get the guides and all the stuff! This makes me even more excited, to know that HOD will help them learn in so many ways!

Too Much Reading?
I have always been a big fan of reading a lot (I love to read), but I recently read something that said students only retain 10% of what they read, and they retain more when they see and hear together, or even more when they do what they are to learn. So that got me to thinking about all the books l...

Adding In or Subbing science questions
Hi, I have decided to use RevtoRev this fall for my 7th and 9th graders. Before I decided I already bought Apologia General science for my 7th grader and Apologia Physical science for my 9th grader. I would really like to still be able to use them. I mostly want to use the General science because my...
