Re: Drawn Into The Heart of Reading ?

So glad HOD was such a blessing to your family!

Yes, that is what we are supposed to do for DITHOR :D :D
It will be mentioned on day 6 and day 11 in TM, if you are starting a new book to update the calendar with your child.
Success :D

Re: Happy HODing in 2013!

What great encouragement you ladies are! :D My verse for this year is Psalm 42:1 As the deer pants for the waterbrooks, so my soul pants for You, O God. On January 1 st during my morning devotions, I kept hearing these words: "Come away with Me and I will show you the deeper things of life". With an...

Re: Am I the Only One Who Has.....

Well, I used to keep them pristine, but I make small notes with pencil now and I have highlighted some in my guides. Mostly in the math section to get the main idea for explanation! As kiddo's get older they are using the manual more and more on their own. My ds is about the start CTC and I'm...

Re: Thinking Skills Book alternative & a few LHFHG ?s

For the skills you mentioned for your daughter, I believe the other R&S books would be great for her! It seems as though you have it covered, doing the right side of Beyond and the left side of LHFHG. :D Are you doing the Thornton Burgess books for story time? How is your daughter with math? Are you...

Re: What is one scheduling tip that has helped your school d

What helped my schedule this year after we moved, are several realizations    1. If my goal is to be done early, than I am stressing and rushing and missing part of the beauty of individualizing school for my kiddo's. 2. If I go to bed on time, I can get up on time my day en...

Re: Teacher Manual for English 3: Beginning Wisely?

The oral review questions in 3 have really helped ds to retain what he learned last year and he is doing a great job. I even used TM for R&S 2 and liked the extra teaching tips, since English is my 2nd language! :D

What an encouraging post, it is great to see the different areas that kiddos are making great strides! :D With my dd5, I noticed great improvement in her reading as we are getting to final lessons in TRL combined with some gentle ETC activities. Re: What dictionary do you have for your kids to use?

In Bigger we mostly used a BJU press children's dictionary, if ds could not find a word, we would look together online or in the 1828 Webster Dictionary we have!We have like using different resources! Occasionally the meaning of the word was in the text, so we have used that as well. :D :D Success i...
