Re: HOD and homeschooling through challenging seasons
Amen!
So glad to hear your son is healing and able to keep moving along in his coursework. We've been praying for him!
Heart of Dakota is surely a very special blessing to us this year, as well. I'm so incredibly thankful for it every day!!

Agreeing with what Lynn said, and adding that you'll also cover church history in the high school World History guide.

Re: Advice/Encouragement - Afraid I won't like teaching CTC
I'm another one who wasn't wild about the idea of doing ancient history, but the year we did CTC with my oldest was such an amazingly wonderful year. HOD truly just keeps getting better each year. :) If you loved Preparing, then you'll also love CTC. Such a rich, Christ-centered year of learning!! ;...

Thanks, Jenn! Yes, it's fun to see others on the boards running the same guides. I wish you the best as you begin your new programs, and pray you have a blessed school year!

Re: 2016-2017 Catalog
Thanks for the update! I can't imagine the work and sacrifice that's gone into these many years of writing HOD guides. We're all very blessed by them! We shall look forward to the new catalog in January.....thank you, Carrie!

Re: Placement help
Of course, please check the placement chart first, but based on what you mentioned in your first post, I'd be inclined to recommend your 9 year old in Bigger, and both the 7 and 5 year olds combined in Little Hearts. Just do the 3 R's at each of their individual levels. I've used almost all the guid...

Re: Considering skipping LHTH for the first time - boy child
I think your plan for your son is wonderful! :) So many times you read of children pressed into the school mold before it's really the best time for them. So much progress in learning can happen through "just playing", and it sounds like you've fostered a good environment for him to easily learn. On...

Re: BJU Literature
I asked a similar question when we did the WG guide for my oldest. Here was Carries reply: "This is a good question. Honestly, as far as the high school English credit goes, there are no hard fast rules as to what constitutes a credit. Since the areas of literature, composition, and grammar are typi...
