Has anyone done DITHR with two children?

I am wondering if anyone has used DITHR with two dc reading the same book and taking turns with the reading aloud? (my boys read at the same level) I am trying to decide if this would add more to our discussions or if it is something that kids would get more out of working individually? Thanks! Alli...

Thank you Carrie. You have given me lots to think about. I am wondering if doing this will make our school day run smoother, even if it is a bit longer. I'm going to write it down and see how it all fits into our day. Thanks for being so helpful! :)

Thank you Carrie! :) I have another question for you..... My older son does overshadow the younger one frequently. They are only a year apart in age but more like 2 years developmentally. I have often thought about having them in seperate programs, but can't decide if that would take too much time. ...

Mary, I am saying a prayer for you right now and am giving praise that you were so comforted in that situation. You are a wonderful example of living faith! I will keep you in my prayers. I know the Lord will continue to comfort you .

You are such a blessing to so many women!

Question about Preparing with two children.....

Hi Everyone! It's been a while since I last posted, we recently moved and things are just beginning to get back to normal around here. :) Anyway, I have been looking over the first week of Preparing plans (it looks wonderful! :D ) and I am wondering how to do the Independent sections with two kids. ...

Hi Sheila. I have two boys ages 8 and 9, and a 5 year old girl. The 9 year old has adhd and is mildly dyslexic. The 8 year old has add, mild dyslexia, and mild auditory processing. I sympathize with you. I often feel that I am the only one who is homeschooling kids with LD's. But then I come to all ...

Thank you for all the replies! :) I really appreciate all the helpful ladies on this board. :D Carrie, thank you for your response. It helps me to understand why you selected R&S for English. I am going to continue with it. My kids don't mind it so I probably shouldn't either. :) And now I realize t...

Questions about Rod and Staff English......

We just finished our 3rd week of Bigger and I couldn't be happier! We are all loving HOD! :D But, I am not crazy about R&S English. My 2nd grader is using level 2 and my third grader is using level 3. The work isn't too hard, I just keep wondering why its necessary to learn formal grammar at this ag...

We have used MFW K and Adventures, and WP Animal Worlds and Children Around the World. While there were parts of the programs that we really liked, neither was a perfect fit for our family. We have completed the first 3 weeks of Bigger and love it. :D HOD seems to fit our family so much better than ...

Hi Adrienne! We have used several phonics programs over the last three years and The Reading Lesson is by far my favorite. I only wish I had found it when I was teaching my older ones how to read. I just started it 2 weeks ago with my soon to be 5 year old. I had been working through another phonics...

We finished our 2nd day with Bigger!......

We just finished our second day with Bigger and it has been so much fun! :D My boys have loved every activity. :) It seems as though Carrie wrote this curriculum specifically for our family. :) Even my 8 year old son, who normally would rather do anything other than schoolwork, really enjoyed the pa...

I don't think I've ever written in a TM....I've never felt the need. :) Mine always look brand new! Which is kind of funny because I am a "Betty".
