Dictionary
My dictionary bites. :x I have a webster children's dictionary that my daughter has been using since the first grade. I think it is time to upgrade because I am using Preparing and only two or three of the vocabulary words were in the dictionary. I had to get online for the rest of them. I had the s...

Re: Anyone having this issue?
We started this week and my 5 year old isn't thrilled about storytime. He does enjoy his books but the Burgess books don't have colorful pictures and I believe that is showing him disintress in the book. My 4 year old loves the books but she also loves Charlotte's Web. I kid you not she loves any bo...

Re: Another Scheduling Question--How to get it all done!
I have a set of chores for everyone to do before lessons. I read Managers of Their Chores (I think that is right) and my younger two have chore packs. My oldest has a chore check-off list. After that we do lessons and the house usually gets crazy looking. After lessons we pick up and right before be...

Re: CTC TM and sticky fingers
I know the feeling. My daughter will be using Preparing but there are parts for her to do on her own. I alreay have my FLL1/2 stained with kool-aid but it was more my fault than hers. No drinks near the books! or food.

Re: Preparing Hearts Time Line
I believe you can make your timeline anyway you want to. My daughter is going to start Preparing soon and I am making a timeline using cardstock. This way I can fold it up and put it in a file in my TM box. In a few months we will be schooling out of a box in a camper and or hotel.

Right now we are doing a little of this and that until my daughter finished her last two units of math. We just finished unit 8 today. My offical start date is August 3 but I don't think we will be starting the new stuff yet. When we do, I will go with it full force.

Right now I am going thru a do I really need this stage so all my scheduling/home managment books are out the window (garag...

Re: $1 school finds at Target
I like the dry erase schedule. I can get a few for the children's rooms and for the fridge. My heart skipped a beat when I saw the stores starting to fill up with back to school supplies. I just don't need nothing but some crayons and color pencils the rest is just goodies.

Re: Differences between Language Arts...
I just wanted to pop in and say that my daughter has used FLL1-3 and enjoyed it so she is continueing with FLL4. (It only goes to level 4). I had already started FLL1 when I found HOD. I tried R&S because it was recommended here, other forums, the WTM book, and other homeschoolers but it just didn't...

Re: I Organized All My HOD Curriculum!
Looks good. I have a little bookshelf with all of the HOD books and guides. Once a month I go thru it and reorganize it because we get it all messed up in no time. I am organizlly challeged but working on it. I am also the organizlly challeged housewife.
