Re: dry erase chart for son of his lessons
I have something like that too for my children. It makes the days/weeks go by much easier. This year I am introducing this to my son. My daughter loves her check off list but my son is still forgetting it but we just started using it. I have one for chores too.

Re: Luuucy, you got some splaining to do.
As of now, my daughter would end at 8th grade with the final HOD guide to come out. She is doing 4th grade with Preparing. I am doing something different for the next four years so this is our last guide. My son is a 'year' early if we stay on the same path. He would finish HOD's last guide for 7th ...

Re: HELP Please! Paint used in PHFHG Week 3 History Project...
I did a similar project with paper bags. I used acrylic paints that I had since they were earthy colors. We start Week three next week the kids will enjoy painting again.

Bed in Summer poem
My daughter is like me and isn't thrilled with poetry so having her do the re writing of this poem was excited for me and also a little stressful. I so wanted to just give her the answers so we could get thru with the 'box' but held thru to the end. I did so some hinting like what kind of bee or wha...

Re: Week inReview 08-20-09
I have finished our second week of offically schooling my oldest two. It's been a little rough and honestly I don't see a seperation of normal times and school times. I am trying to have a determined begining (9ish) and ending (3ish). Trying to complete a full day of LHFHG and PHFHG within that time...

Re: Enchanted Learning
I have been using enchanted learning since my oldest was a Ker. To me it is worth the 20 bucks. I dont' want to sit online searching for all the free stuff. It has all that I need for everyone. Surprisenly even for my 9 year old. She has gotten stuff off it when we are looking up something for anima...

Re: How old is too old, to jump into using Singapore Math?
I tried to get my daughter to switch in second grade and it was a disaster, I went back to Lifepacs and now using Modern Curriculum Press. My little ones are using Singapore math from the begining.

Re: How long does it take to get into your HOD groove?
I am giving my self a month to get into a groove but it's more about how we do everything daily. We travel around way too much to stick to one way. I just know as soon as we get into our groove we will be packing our backs to move again or do a long term visit to family.

Re: PLEASE tell me it is OKAY not to be on Day 5 ....
YES it's okay. I have had to say that to myself this past week and now hubby is chimming in. He don't care if we just did one day of school in a week just as long as the family is working together and a little does get done each day. I am more scheduled this year since I am offically homeschooling t...

I did it twice too. It is a fun program. I should get some more preschoolers at my house and do the program over again. It has been my favorite littles program.

Re: Seashore & BIGGER
I wasn't living next to the ocean at the time we did Bigger but we did have a lake we went to often that summer. We took pictures of the birds there. We collected shells and water plants. We even tried collecting minnows and tadpoles. We would talk about our trip to the lake and then about the ocean...

Re: Advice for a newbie???
I have decided to use the whole program instead of the right side for the first half of our year and I am copying the pages. My tagalong is actually doing the work too so I copy a page for her. Could I just buy a another workbook, yes but I have the ink and paper right here and it's less of a hassl...

Re: Handwriting???
I would have posted a pic but don't know how to do it. My 5 yo can write but still goes out of the main lines. As long as they get in between the main lines I am okay with that. Writing takes practice. My 9 yo doesn't print pretty but her cursive is very nice. I use the line papers from walmart and ...
