We're HOME!!

I just had to pop in here and share with you ladies that we are home and doing well! :) It has been quite the journey this past month+! (Here is my post from early August if you missed it... http://www.heartofdakota.com/board3/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=12356) I haven't been updating here as I didn't want ...

Re: Finally figured out why ds balks at HOD. Help?

One quick thought that came to my mind as I read this... I guess I see the HOD guides as having 2 parts. The left page is the "history" part...and it's called Learning Through History. The right page is the basics. So, there are really 2 parts to every day. So, when I see the left page, I don't see ...

Re: I would so appreciate your prayers...

Thank you ladies for all praying with us! We continue to appreciate it, and are so thankful to have the Lord walking with us through this time and the encouragement and love of other believers being poured out on our family! Mike's surgery on Friday was successful, and we are praising the Lord for t...

Re: I would so appreciate your prayers...

I have another update ladies. And, while today has been much more difficult than we expected, we are still trusting the Lord one step at a time. The surgeon was just getting going with the surgery, when he found a suspicious nodule on the omentum (the fatty layer that hangs like a curtain over your ...

Re: I would so appreciate your prayers...

Ok...I have another update. While I was typing the last one, God was busy rearraging our schedule. :D Mike got a call that the surgeon was free and could see us RIGHT then, and he will be having surgery on Monday morning at 7:30am. Thank you all for your continued prayers! We are relying fully on Hi...

Re: I would so appreciate your prayers...

Hi ladies! I only have a minute here, but just wanted to let you all know what we're up to. (I actually thought I had been on here Thursday morning, but must have forgotten...sorry about that.) Mike and I are currently at Cancer Treatment Centers of America just north of Chicago getting another opin...

Re: I would so appreciate your prayers...

What a blessing it is to be LOVED by the body of Christ!! :D We are so thankful for our real-life church family, our community, our facebook friends (many of whom we went to Bible college with and live all over the world), and our friends here at HOD! God has been giving us peace and comfort as we t...

I would so appreciate your prayers...

Hi ladies! Our family just got some difficult news today, and I would really appreciate your prayers for us in the coming weeks. My husband found out today that he has a tumor in his colon that is most likely cancerous. (The Dr. doing the procedure couldn't tell us on the spot, but was 99% sure...) ...

Re: RTR questions

Grant also REALLY loved RTR! :D He was also intrigued by the early church history, the knights, the battles...just like Julie and Lynn shared. He didn't think any of the books were boring - he really enjoyed them all! I did find that it took him longer for the history readings when he was reading Pe...

Re: RTR question

The history read-alouds will only affect the storytime box in the guide, so you will still get PLENTY of wonderful learning without them. I have to say that my son absolutely LOVED them last year though and they're at the top of his list of favorite things to do every day. :D They really do a great ...

Re: Combining DITHOR

We started mid-year with that here... Allison was just beginning DITHOR and Grant was using it 3 times per week along with RTR. I had Allison reading from her book daily, but we just did DITHOR lessons when Grant had his so that we lined up the together days. I've decided that this year I'm going to...

Re: Questions in I boxes in Rev to Rev

Thanks for asking this Lynn. :D Logging this info in my mind for when we get ready to go on school...which will be a few weeks. Still a little CRAZY out here on the farm this year. I'm sure we'll eventually get organized, but we may start school before then. I'm looking forward to Rev2Rev wit...

Re: Rushing through ARFH K?

If he still needs more practice on letters before writing words/verses, maybe you could just get another copy of the K book. If he loves it that much, he probably wouldn't mind. And, that's what I would be tempted to do in your shoes.
